Well the thing is. Pounce cooldown goes down so much, it gets really good for escapes.

And about Pounce being unreliable, if you don't hit your lvl1 Pounce, you most likely are not going to get a kill anyways.

And heart is totally waste on Slark, Skadi is the way to go.

@hersky
Pounce is unreliable, dark pact offers more spammable damage on a very low cooldown and mana cost

I personally like to max out Pounce and take one level to Q and E. Then the Pounce will make more damage and the cooldown is reduced alot for survival. Bottle is totally waste, Basilius into Vlads or Aquila is alot better imo.

Dont know about other items... Basher, S&Y, Heart, Skadi, Butterfly are all good and situational. Maybe even Buriza.

Personally, I am in wilddeonpwn's camp of only needing a wand to fulfill my mana needs.. However,if you feel the need for that extra mana, I'd try either a urn of shadows or ring of aquila. They both provide the regen you need as well as some tankiness for early game ganks.

Food for thought! :)

BKB is kind of needed Verdey, any strong burst can make a gank go horribly wrong. Also the damage and strength would be much appreciated.

@Hades Dark pact is leveled as it gives constant high burst damage in a gank, you can easily use it 2-3 times in a gank for very low mana cost. While leveling essence shift should be done as you can get out of control, but it doesn't help much in those early ganks. You need the damage and you should be slippery enough with your ult and pounce to be able to take the extra damage safely

And bottle is far too expensive for little mana regen, Its really not worth the gold and item slot. It gives you 3x 70 mana, thats 210 mana that can be gotten from other places for cheaper. 2 Clarities give you this mana for 100 gold. Of course you can refil it but since you shouldnt be getting runes you need to get them from the fountain, filling your mana anyway

Also, get a orb of venom from the side shop. Its just amazing on slark, that slow on him is needed

Why would you max out Dark Pact? You're squishy already, more damage to you is worse.

+1.

I agree, one level in pact is enough as it can be used to purge debuffs with little damage. Why turn a squishy into a piece of glass

BKB is ******ed, and I never ran into mana problems.
Overall, the skill build is very strange.

Sorry, but before you should publish a guide you should at least do the item section.

Anyway, I would disagree with the skill build. I would max 3rd skill b4 Pounce. Diffusal blade isn't too good on slark IMO, all it does is drain mana and deal damage equal to it, and give you a purge. Yes, that is very helpful in ganks, but what about a Sange and Yasha? The slow never runs out of "charges" and it could proc better than one purge. I don't know what other people think, nor do I care, but I think the Sange and Yasha is better than Diffusal. Also, you shouldn't get a Bottle on slark, a Magic Wand is enough.
That's it, I guess?

In dota 1,the Pounce range got higher the more levels it had.Was really beneficial to max that out first, and keep 1 point in Dark Pact until level 6.

I really find myself having absolutely no mana problems at all on Slark. Dark Pact has only 40 mana cost, and the others are really low too. I still wouldn't get a bottle :3

I'm sorry that I haven't finish my item section before I published the guide.

I do not go to mid lane with Slark but I buy bottle because it provide very good mana regeneration.

However, I only buy bottle if and only if no ally hero buy Arcane boot for the team.

I will update item section soon : ).

Thanks for the feedback.
