You won't need mana boots at all if you're not maxing battle hunger. And Sange and Yasha just isn't necessary on him.

I feel like sange and yasha isn't necessary to chase or anything for that matter since he has blink dagger?

basic but effective. Mana boots are essential Because Axe is very mana hungry, with those boots he fixes almost all his problems.
Sange and Yasha is a sort of "experiment" i did with axe, and i discovered that it helps him a bit, in both armor and hp, and the extra speed could help him in battle.
