Unorthodox builds, yes or no?

Simple enough question, do you like unorthodox builds? I like to try things out and see how they work, but I don't want to punish my team if it doesn't go as planned.
There's no earthy way of knowing which direction we are going. There's no knowing where we're rowing, or which way the river's flowing. Is it raining, is it snowing? Is a hurricane a-blowing? Not a speck of light is showing, so the danger must be growing. Are the fires of Hell a-glowing? Is the grisly Reaper mowing?! YES! The danger must be growing! For the rowers keep on rowing! And there's certainly not showing ANY SIGNS THAT THEY ARE SLOWING!

Of course. Everybody likes something different.

I played a core Leshrac on mid, not support. I maxed Lightning Storm first.

Dunno, is this what you meant by "unlrthodox"?

By unorthodox, I mean something like dagon riki, or morphling support.

Unorthodox as in something you don't see in Competetive but you've done the Math on and feel would be strong? Always try this out in Pubs! If you try something new, find it works and that almost no one esle does it, you may be onto a winning formula.

Unusual Items are one thing, but be careful when playing a hero in a different Lane or Role, Support Morphling is trash tbh. It would be better to be greedy and try to take Farm if you end up as a Morphling even if your Team needs a Support. Repick, or play the Hero effectively, playing them ineffectively is of no use to your Team and isn't fun...unless you're trolling 8{3

..or better yet, 5 stack and play with people who'll pick intelligently

Leshrac Mid == kinda unorthodox, but he does seem to be played as a Core more than a Support in Competetive these days.

Maxing Lightning Storm 1st is just Situational...tbh Leshrac is one of those Heroes where what you should Max 1st changes entirely with each game.

Lets compare with a Crystal Maiden.

You have an 80 damage 3x stun with 900 range on a 10 second cooldown
CM has a 3s, 210 damage semidisable with 500 range and 10s cooldown

You have a 1000 range 325 damage AoE nuke/blink/dodge on an 11s cooldown
Cm has a 700 range 250 damage AoE nuke on a 15s cooldown with a strong slow

You have thousands of HP
CM has a global mana regen

You have a global movement, carry-copying, chasing replicate
She has a channeled AoE

At level 25 she has 59 strength
At level 25 you have 69, plus whatever agility you want to morph in (all)

Maybe not a venomancer, shadow demon, or leshrac but pretty good no?
Gr8 b8, m8. I rel8, str8 appreci8, and congratul8. I r8 this b8 an 8/8. Plz no h8, I'm str8 ir8. Cr8 more, can't w8. We should convers8, I won't ber8, my number is 8888888, ask for N8.
