quick question

why isnt Disrupter or heroes like him ever seen in pro matches?

(if he is then i must be blind since i never see him)

once he has arcane boots he pretty much is set. leaving him heaps of gold for wards and team items.

he has a good chase with Glimpse a semi lockdown with Kinetic Field and early game harass with Thunder Strike which can damage close units and then his ulti comes into play with an AoE silence with associated potentially large amount of damage and a good cooldown. all his abilities are great by themselves but his combo deals heaps of damage, and lock down.

why isn't he and other heroes like him played pro more often?

i would love to know the reasons?

I don't know if Disruptor is in the pro scene at the moment, but if he isn't, he should be. Every time I play Disruptor support, I really kick *** if my team isn't stupid. Though it is in pub, I think it is really testament to his ability to support, disable and deal a ****load of damage.

Actually he has been been picked a decent amount of times.
http://www.datdota.com/blog/?p=528
This post from the 20th shows that he actually had a 23% pick/ban rate in 6.80.
Right now it is 24.1%

When i see him he is mostly picked against mobility heroes like storm spirit, becouse he can punish overextentions with silences and screw with them by using glimpse.

The problem with him is that he is weak early and is not a strong trilaner.
His skills are kind of like ancient apparitions in the sense that he is very mediocre at ganking, has 2 strong and 2 mediocre spells. But right now AA's ult is stronger and glimpse isnt strong early while chilling touch is insane early.

So he is pretty much a situational counterpick and not really regular pick material.

Disruptor is a pretty "common" support. I mean, he isn't between the most picked ones like Veno, AA, Visage, Bane and Wisp, but I'm pretty sure he has a higher pick ratio then others like Lion, Ogre Magi, Witch Doctor, Jakiro and maybe even Lich. Particularly, Power Rangers tend to use him a lot.

Anyway, his Glimpse is - as said before - the best initiation/counter initiation tool versus Heroes like Storm Spirit and Clockwerk; it also prevents enemies from TPing to your lane. He's not a very strong trilaner, but the Glimpse might be enough to get a few lane kills with a good support partner (maybe with lots of disables or a huge slow like Shadow Shaman and Venomancer). Also, he can make excellent ganks in the mid lane and has one of the best teamfight spells for a support.

As for other Heroes, I'll make a short list with common supports and why they don't get picked:
There are other Heroes I haven't listed such as Vengeful Spirit, Leshrac and Jakiro: I'd really like to see them played more often.

No NON ULTIMATE stuns,
Warlock has his ulti for stun and kotl's push skill with ultimate does disable channeling also kotl has an unreliable but still stun with mana drain.

Well, you're right, but since they have no reliable stuns for the laning phase they're pretty useless as trilane supports: I like running them in dual lanes, but there are many other choices for a trilane (except for Undying, maybe). I think I should've written a more accurate explanation. D:

Warlock is pretty much exclusively a mid hero in the pro scene. Undying is really only ever used in aggressive tri lanes. I've seen undying a couple of times recently...it didn't end well. But yeah reliable stuns aren't that important I mean visage? Dazzle, veno, AA. Pretty popular supports no reliable stuns. (Dazzle obviously has a mini stun but not counting mini's.)
