iv played with Chalk before and we are in normal skill. yet.... this happens...regularly.

6 games normal one high one high two very high one high 4 normal.....

nothing changed on our end... same people. yet it says we were placed in different skill levels ....

You are right now a tad bit lesser than the high skill bracket. and that is vlave's mathematics of rationalizing skill levels.
Its like when many stratified players are matched no skil level is alloted to tha match.
Similarly, when too many single strata players are matched the mode is alloted based on number of players.

I cant confirm this for sure but there is good reason to believe this.

My other hypothesis can be that AU is a server where most of the players are at high/very high skilled tier and you get the shorter end of the stick.

The former is more likely , imo.

You (and your friend) simply got queued with varying levels of players. I'm guessing you got matched up with and against other Stacks, whose MMR may have ben more varied than your 2 Stack. Matchmaking tries to place you with other players with similar MMR, but if you search fora few minutes, it will inevitably start searching higher and lower brackets in order to find a game for you.

I played a game with Xyrus and co. and it was Very High Skill even though I am like 2k mmr. I fed hard -.-
