Another counter to Pudge that I don't believe has been mentioned so far. Which is Storm Spirit!
Storm is a great counter to pudge in many different ways.

In the laneing stage Storm can zone Pudge out of lane really easily by just spamming his Q and farming the creep wave. Since pudge is melee he will have to get through the spirits you keep throwing down to last hit. As a pudge player this really annoys me because as a mid pudge having no farm after the laning stage key items such as urn or blink are really delayed.

After the laning stage and your past level 6 you are nearly impossible to hook thanks to your ult, which is the best mobility skill in the game. If you see or expect a hook coming you can just roll away! Pudge heavily relies on his hook in fights to pull heroes out of position. Since he can't hook you his usefulness in fights is really poor.
Additionally Storm scales much better late game than Pudge does. After you have items such as Orchid, bloodstone and Linkens Pudge won't stand a chance to your mobility and tankiness.

REMEMBER: Against Pudge you are vunrable pre level 6. Make sure that you play safe around Pudge before you have your ult. Keep the creep wave between you and him at all times and be aware of the hooks hit box as pudge can hook just past the ranged creep and hit you behind. Another effective way to shut pudge down is to always have vision of him, even buy a ward to put on lane so that you can always avoid his hooks.

So I you get to level 6 and zone Pudge out of lane you will stomp him as Storm Spirit! So give him a go!

- Observer Wards
- Huskar

Huskar rapes him in mid, can cut down 35% of his HP at all times, the less HP he has the less magic damage he takes (so if you get Dismembered it doesnt do **** when you're low. Hes a great counter. Try it. I cant believe nobody has said this yet.

Also Necrophos because hsi ult can kill him at half health with Aghs.\

they are also tanky as ****. Nuff said

Y except that he he can disable you in BKB for enemy team to beat you up, and hook is 360 pure damage nuke, so he can solo kill you with blink if you are low hp(even 30-40% I think, but not sure).

And why necro this thread?
