Not glad at all about them. To some degree I'm happy I'm not at home and can't play pubs for a while because in the first week after Techies release pubs will most likely be flooded with them, regarding amount of hype around them for years. Plus, they are on of so-called "anti-fun" heroes who make you play a special way, more than any hero.

Also, Techies are not so skill-reliant but they rather require grinding some guides for a spots to deploy mines while opposition also has to know at least most common spots(much like in warding). Now please tell me, how many pub players will read guides before playing Techies/playing against Techies? I guess 1% or so, but the minority of players for sure.

Now if Techies player doesn't know how to play them, he's a -1 for his team, even worse as he can feed enemies and sap your GPM and XPM.
If he knows how, he's such a pain in the butt, more than good Pudge, more than good Clockwerk, more than good Nature's Prophet, more than good Puck, more than anyone in Dota 2. And if your team doesn't know how to play against him, or simply too greedy to buy some dust or get a gem(yes, my dear position 4-3-2(or even a hardcarry) hero, you will most likely have to buy some sentries for your supports if you don't want them to be 0-10 and without a boot by 15th minute), you are ****ed.

Gotta just sit in there for a month or so and wait until they will get enough of that terrorists(I'm afraid, however, they never will and Techies will be the new Pudge).

TL;DR absolutely disgusting hero, thanks IceFrog for creating this piece of ****

I agree, any new hero would be the weekly pub scrubs hero, it's the ultimate 'nuker' and in my opinion, a very very cheap hero

I don't really mind him being in the game.

If anything forcing people to actually buy detection at low level games is a good thing because it prepares people for high level play. It will also have the side effect of laughing at Riki a tad but hey it's his lot in life.

If people don't buy detection, yeah he will probably dominate games in a competent players hands. But that's pubs for ya, where Carry Crystal Maiden can be a thing.

It won't drastically change things in the long term, it's just going to add a new dimension to the game, which is a great thing.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

Putting Sentry Ward in your lane to spot Clinkz or Bounty Hunter earlier is one thing, warding the whole ****ing map is another. In 2014 only categories of players that are unaware of invis detection are either newbies with little gaming experience who will learn to use those items quite quickly once they type "how to counter Riki" in Google after being owned few times, or absolute trench-tier players who have extremely limited learning ability and Techies won't help the case in either of those.

What is the most annoying is you have to adapt all your team's gameplay to defeat a good Techies player, while if you have been matched with a bad Techies player, your chances of winning are truly miserable as Techies in the wrong hands are the greatest feed-machine. Lottery anyone?

Probably will play CM for some period with fist-banning Techies, rly.

First, you need as much as 900 gold for it - that's a lot of gold to sacrifice at a the beginning of the game. for carries and especially for supports
Second, someone will have to roam all the map to defuse these bombs which is possible in case of Earthshaker/ Mirana/other roaming support but how much roaming supports are there in pubs?
Third, you have to not get killed which is hard when you can be boomed for 650 damage every ****ing second. Techies+1 hero=no gem for you, but gem for Techies to deward your sentries.

Sentries are fine for countering Techies, but they must be bought by at least 2-3 player in the team to cover all the needed spots which requires knowledge and team cooperation rarely met in pubs.

You'll probably soon see yourself though.

You won't need to ward the entire map. I mean, Techies will have certain obvious placements (Like by friendly buildings ect), so you know to have detection there. And, he'll probably have it in places he wants teamfights to happen so where it'll have the most effect. Don't play into those positions rather simply, take the teamfights you want, when you know your opponent isn't in the best position.

And if he dominates pubs because people don't get enough wards and the like, then people will just learn to adapt, as is always the case in this. He'll force the adaptation, and if he's truely as bad as you are suggesting, he'll get balanced in a later patch.

And from the sounds of it you are talking about Captains Mode/Draft also right? Well I thought standard procedure with new Heroes is not to put them straight into those game modes till they are balanced out. (Sorry if I'm wrong on that)

Pubs are pubs. Just because a Hero can dominate a pub match doesn't mean it's an OP Hero by any means. Or even necessarily a good one.

You also mention the point about roaming supports, and about the lack of them in pubs - Then be that support. If you understand a need for it on a team, then the best thing you can do is fill that role.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

If you are a support, you might as well save your team the trouble, don't you agree?
