Positions 2 Visage?

So in this game and this game I played position 2 Visage and basically dominated (more so in the first one). All of the guides and builds for Visage play him as a support, but I had a lot of lane presence as an offlane carry with Io support. Is position 2 Visage a legitimate strat and if it works for me should I keep doing it?

Farming visage is actually really strong, it just a question of is it worth it to run him as a core and not a different hero? Since he is pretty good at getting farm even in a support role.

Visage is considered a support because he doesn't need farm. He doesn't scale with farm, but with levels, Aghanim's Scepter is pretty much the only item he'll ever need, the main hero's right-click is pretty poor and building right-click items on him makes no sense, his familiars deal the damage not the hero. You're supposed to get the gold you need by making early kills happen, and Visage is one of the best supports in the game to get early kills.

Being a support doesn't mean that you're a healing ***** that sits in the back of fights and has no impact. Supports can get tons of kills just like anyone. Being a support just means that you don't need *farming priority*. And Visage doesn't need farming priority because he's not item dependent.

Anything that you can do as a farming Visage, you can do just as well as a support Visage.

Errrrrrr Mastadoom .... Why vlads? ... you got it twice? hell you had two in one match?

because i was still very new to the game, and though vlads worked with ranged heros..............

Vlads is a support item, so Vlads on Visage is a million times better than Vlads on Phantom Lancer or whatever. Still it's only really good when you have melee carries in your team.
Aura doesn't work that well on the birds though, the damage bonus doesn't work because the birds' base damage is only 10 xD

yea i understand that... we had a team game where we built Vlads on a Skywrath Mage

im not doubting the viability of it... im saying in both matches you had 3 or 4 ranged heroes and in the first one Abaddon already had Vlads so why two? and why with a disproportionate amount of ranged to melee.

It doesnt really matter much, whatever way you play visage, he excels.

I play a lot of visage carry and support, you just gotta think what the team needs.

I once got a 12-0 on visage and he is a really good semi carry. He is great in any role or lane, even initiator.
