zoning?

and by "lock down" i mean that duel locks a hero in place and essentially locks them out from using abilities or items.

I am itching to have some decent amount of time with Legion Commander. All i have been able to do is a couple of bot matches to try her out (since never played DOTA 1). Both games I jungled and she seems a really effective jungler. Then it seems to me to be all about attack speed, positioning and timing.

Hope to properly try her out this week.

What zoning means : Putting or driving your opponent into/away from an area.

For example: A teamfight breaks out.You as legion commander run at the enemy nevermore to use duel on, and fight. He will obviously run away because he doesn't want to die(asuming that you can defeat him in a duel). You zoned him out of the fight, allowing your team to possibly win the fight.(or at least give them a higher chance)

ohh ok that makes sense ty :) ... just a quick note on Tres, to counter her, as with most melee heroes stuns and slows are the most effective. lion as a lane enemy is quite a good combination of mana drain, stun and burst dmg and works quite well against her, or if lion doesnt sync well with your game plan a hero that can kite her is effective, drow for instance. right clickers with out stuns on the enemy team are her friend so avoid them since she can quite happily sit in amongst a couple of right clickers and survive long enough for allies to come to the rescue.

when i saw the introduction of this hero (i stopped playing dota 1 right before she was implemented) and read her spells i at first thought "meh ....earlygame dependent snowball hero". After seeing her in some games i recently played however, i think that i might have underestimated that hero.

I dont think she will be a top-tier pick in competitive gameplay, but i think she has a rather unique niche, as she is able to really punish teams, that dont run alot of hard ccs (meaning stuns), as slows and whatnot really dont bother her, thanks to "press the attack". Furthermore she is able to bully some of those "high mobility casters" that usually can be really hard to bring down like Storm Spirit, QoP or Timbersaw.

As far as i have seen you also cant really count that hero out, simply because you have shut her down for the first 15 minutes of the game. I played a game were we ganked the opponent legioncommander like 3-5 games in the first 15 minutes of the game. as she then was 0-5-0 (or something like that) no1 really botherd about her for the next 20 minutes and suddenly ...after only 2-3 teamfights (which had about even outcomes) that hero suddenly started rolling all over us ....completely out of nowhere.

I still might have to see her being played more often, but as far as i can tell now, Legion Commander, though more of a situational pick, is a quite interesting hero.

I agree that Lion is effective against her in lane as when she is stunned or silenced she can be in a really bad position but in a teamfight for example she can use Press The Attack on a friendly to remove to debuff.

So I believe the best way to take her out if to focus her down in the beginning with Impale (Or with any stun or slow), then once the stun is used up or when she uses Press The attack to remove the debuff You can use Lion's Hex (If you're using Lion) or Drow's Silence in order to keep for from escaping easily because of Overwhelming Odds.

Thanks for your guys opinions it is really cool to hear what other people think.
