Top Tier:
These heroes are always the first to go and it is extremely rare for them to not get banned/picked right away. Their ability to more than just fill the roles of the current meta-game makes them extremely useful in any line-up.

Middle Tier:
Useful heroes that are rarely left untouched during the early selection process. Most of these heroes will be picked/banned in a match.
Lower Tier:
These are the heroes that are still good in the competitive scene, but are obviously less of a priority in picking. Unless they are picked early for a specific role or counter, dependant on the team compsition.

Some people have been wondering how I formatted my last guide, so I decided to make this post to share some of the techniques that I used. This post is not intended to be the superbible of formatting, but merely a starting point for creating your own format to use.

If you are interested in learning more, check out jhoijhoi's guide on MOBAFire. The formatting there is very similar despite the fact that it is a different site (well, not entirely).

The Basics

  • b, i, u, s - Creates bold, italic, underlined, or strikethrough text.

    Code:
    [b]Bold[/b] [i]Italics[/i] [u]Underlined[/u] [s]Strikethrough[/s]

    Produces:
    Bold
    Italics
    Underlined
    Strikethrough

    Usage:
    • Use formatted text to emphasize particularly valuable information.

  • sup, sub - Creates superscript or subscript text

    Code:
This is [sup]superscript[/sup] text. This is [sub]subscript[/sub] text.

    Produces:
    This is superscript text.
    This is subscript text.

    Usage:
    • Use superscript and subscript text to format special

Ok.

So I was working on a guide about hero roles. I had a snazzy name picked out and everything "Dota 2 Class Warfare" I was going to call it, and maybe insert bad jokes and pictures of the Occupy X movement.

Then I had an awesome discussion with Snoopy from Absolute Legends. It was incredibly enlightening and yet also extremely frustrating. The gist of it is there's a metagame shift in the works and with it mostly invalidates the stuff I've done and was working on at the time. Gah. At least we get to explore new topics though. The next video guide will mostly be concerning what's happening right now.

Basically Na'Vi are to blame. Those of you who've seen the Ukranian (mostly) juggernaught in action know exactly how successful they are and how damn scary they look when they play. Naturally they're extremely talented players with incredible coordination but that's not the whole of it. For a long time I've put down their ability to pub stomp even the strongest teams (and I do mean sto…

Hey I was just wondering where can I find a legit download link for Dota 2?
I've been searching everywhere but there's a lot of different links and I've tried some but no luck. I'm just worried about downloading a virus or something, you may never know nowadays. So if anyone can comment and give me a legit link i'd love to join the Dota community and try it out, Thanks in advance! (:

Carry

Heroes in this role are generally required to have a high level and quite expensive items in their inventory in order to be effective in teamfights. They generally take most of the farm in a team, cleaning lanes and sometimes jungles.

This role can be split in two sub-categories:

Hard Carry

A hard carry is the type of hero that is generally useless in the beginning of the game and is really dependent on getting his items/levels.
These type of carries are generally seen ricing through early-mid game and coming out late-game to wipe the floor with the enemy team.

Examples: Anti-Mage, Spectre, Faceless Void

Semi Carry

A semi carry on the other hand, is the type of hero that excels at ganking early game or has skills that allow him to farm a creep wave fast. These heroes reach their peak potential way earlier than hard carries and can sometimes compete with some hard carries themselves, if farmed enough.

Examples: Bounty Hunter, Shadow Fiend, Queen of Pain

Post a picture of your best and worst heroes.

Best Heroes

Storm Spirit (Well I did make the guide.)

Night Stalker & Bounty Hunter
tl;dr I own with any solo mid.

Worst Heroes:

Anti-Mage (*epic misery and facepalm*)

tl;dr I fail 80% of the games when I hard carry. I am cursed. Usually, I pick hard carry, team fails early game. =(

Special Mention:
Windrunner: (Don't judge me.)
