Why isnt soul ring an item for pudge?

I just realized why Soul Ring is not picked up on Pudge.

I mean like with Tranquil Boots and Flesh Heap you already have alot of health and hp regen and I mean Soul Ring only cost 150 health for 150 mana when lvl 4 Meat Hook costs a 140 mana. Soul Ring also givs you mana regen which is good specially for a hero like Pudge.


So why isnt it picked up on Pudge, is there something wrong about it?

Is it a waste of inventory space?

It has a cost of only 800 gold so whats wrong about it?

Pudge doesn't need to spam one spell during a lanphase/teamfight(which is why most heroes get Soul Ring), he quickly casts his combo and either regenerates with a Bottle or goes to fountain. No need for sustain or harassing or ****, even on sidelane where he uses Rot which depletes his HP, adding Soul Ring is too much.

I see where you're coming from, A soul ring may be useful if you pick up tranqs during mid game between you ganking people as you generally have a small mana pool. So I don't see what's wrong with it just that you can spend the ~800 gold on more useful things. Like bottle per say or towards ur blink dagger.

You won't necessarily be throwing a Meat Hook every 30 seconds, and since you should be Roaming around looking for Kills, you can expect to get Runes most of the time to fill your Bottle, otherwise, just BottleCrow. Pudge may have some early Mana issues, but making each Hook count will go a long way towards solving this.

Well its not the best item to get, BUT you can sometimes get it if you're laning sidelanes, u can pretty much spam Meat Hook as soon as its off cd (Lvl 3+ is the preferred time to start that)

another great use of it is to suicide, YES, its super good for that, you just wait for your health to drop below 150, activate Rot, use Soul Ring and enjoy people raging over a sure kill, this works 100% of times if no auto attack is coming, otherwise you still have a high chance to suicide

TL;DR Soul Ring can be bought on sidelanes and can be used for easier suicides aswell
