So here I am after reading almost 10 really good guides about Dota2, and at lvl 6 still not being able to get into Ranked matches due to lack of lvl lol.

Hi to whoever reads this, I've been playing dota for some hours already, I use all my free time in this game and I've got some advices from friends who btw recommended this game.

I've checked all guides, and none seems to tell me, if there's an specific hero I should pick, all I know by now, based on what I've read, is almost avoiding picking Riki, Sniper, BS and other popular heroes around pubs, I've been experiencing a lot with Weaver, actually, Weaver is the reason why I became 'addictive' to the game, cause it is some kind of a challange to master him correctly lol(still struggling on how to get a good build when opponent picks BS or Death Prophet), but, should I be using a single hero until I reach lvl 13 and be able to get into MMR? should I be trying all until I really get good at one specific hero per role? thanks btw for reading all this.

Regards.

Hey newbie (no offensive), I can only give advice about your lovely weaver in Dota 2, nothing else.
Weaver is pretty strong hero on pub games, though misplay will let him being nothing but a food. So stay sharp if you haven't faced a strong lane heroes, they might have Sentry Ward on the lane too! it gives a detection an area where it planted, if they have good support which you will experience that one later. After being level 6 on offlane you will need to gank other lanes if you want to get fed. And his core item should be Linken's Sphere..

Offlane is when you solo against 2vs1 on hardlane because some heroes needs an xps much, but he can go mid too as well. It doesn't matter if he doesn't solo, as long as he will be fine with the lane status.

I haven't played Weaver a lot but he seems pretty hard to me when playing well with Time Lapse. Hope I gave you a nice info.

Edit:Although I don't know which to start hero first, I usually play Disruptor Sand King and Dragon Knight from the beginning. They're much easier but hard to master it like Weaver.

Try all the heroes out, here's a challenge

Make a lobby then enter game. Once you're loaded into a game, look around the lower middle area of the screen there should be a rotate to random hero (Selects a random hero without actually picking it). Whatever hero you are rotated to, play that specific hero at least 3 times so you have an idea of how that specfic hero works. Rinse and repeat until you've played all heroes. After awhile, you'll figure out which playstyles you prefer and which heroes you really like.

Seeing as you like Weaver, you probably would like Nyx, Puck or Skywrath Mage. What these three heroes share in common with Weaver is that they need good positioning, aim with skillshots and reaction time.

I highly recommend you avoid Ranked Match Making and stick to Normal Match Making until you get confortable with mechanics and heroes. Like in any competitive environment, it's prone to more toxic behaviors so for now enjoy normal match making until you complete that challenge.

If you want to see your progress, there's a site called [http://www.dotabuff.com/topics/2014-02-14-hi-welcome-to-dotabuff-how-to-foruman-unofficial-melody-guide]dotabuff[/url] to track your progress. There are other similar sites but I forget >_>

Once you've gotten used to how to play that Hero, you should also read up on the latest guides and maybe watch a professional game where that Hero was picked. Then have a go at playing them in All Pick

I'd recommend Mirana, Puck and Phoenix

Agreed, it's not much better than regular Matchmaking and if you get stuck at anything below 3k, you'll regret it...just like me T-T

Dotamax provides really nice information about your progress on both ranked and normal games.
Example
"When game is going full ******, you can only go with it. If you start going against it, if you start going half ******, you´re ****ing done for. When Aloha decides to go middle rubick you let him, and you start buying orb of venom on invoker. That's how dota works" -n0tail

Personally I would recommend trying out a range of heroes to respond to situational picks in the game, but please do favour one or two heroes and practice with them, let them be your secret weapon. Tips with Weaver: Since he can easily escape and deal a lot of damage play him aggressively, chase enemies off to their tower, gank and dive when you hit level 6, do it because you can. Plan the ganking routes, it's always a good idea to come in from behind, so if they blink or run away, use Time Lapse and finish them off.

I'd recommend Puck, Broodmother, Nyx Assassin and Night Stalker if you like Weaver. All of them are great gankers (except for Brood), and are sneaky like Weaver.
