Usually I try (keyword "try") to teach new players, but I have recently found really noobish players in my matches. Both were on the losing side. You might think that in complaining too much, but things like [riki] with a shadow blade and [crystal maiden] with a mask of madnessreally irritate me. Does anyone have any ideas on how to teach these people/how to avoid them?

You can't really avoid these people unless you play with a 5-stack. However a way of teaching them is to be friendly; ask why they got those items and then suggest better ones for that hero and explain why. If they are really new to the game then try and give them advice such as looking up guides on this website or watching youtube videos etc. Try and guide them and give them suggestions don't be forceful but try to steer them towards the right goal.
Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.

Fact is aside from a 5 stack you cannot avoid these kind of player ( call it luck) also I find that trying to teach people is always kind of late because you always notice their mistake when its too late and unlike faceless void you don't have a chronosphere to have time to explain all of it.. It end up like babysitting 4 people and that gets boring because you expect them to know at least some base ( I put new players aside because hey you gotta learn someday too ) So most of the time I try to give at least 1-2 focus on the game that give us better chance of winning ( say don't let that anti mage breath or farm get an orchid for him or if playing against a PA I'd recommend to rush a monkey king bar)but aside from that focus on your game and flip a coin for the rest of the team... the more you win the more likely you will need to solo carry people that's basically how MMR work and since DOTA is a team game your win/loss will balance itself to 50% anyway get used to that or find a 5 stack all the time :) because ppl with 5k mmr don't get matched with 5k ppl they get matched with 2k3 ppl because game don't allow to get up to X mmr in a team so high mmr ppl in solo are etheir lucky or just always out carry their opponent

I once told a Tidehunter to get a Blink, he said "lol" and bought a Drum of Endurance. The last bit of gold he had before we lost was invested in a Ring of Health.

By the way, as said avove you can't avoid these kind of players, but in my opinion it highly depends on your platytime: I started finding decent players when solo queueing after reaching about 800 hours, but there are clueless people with more than 2000 hours, too (like the AA in this match who never Warded and bought a Skadi). People say it also depends on your winrate, but I'd never found that much of a difference when I was below 50-51%.

Ya, agree that it can't be avoided but it might be because of winrate too. I once was on a winrate of 180 wins and 150 losses but suddenly went on an intense losing streak with really bad players and got back to 50-50 winrate. It's the ugly truth :/ or maybe it's just me.

My conspiracy theory is that Matchmaking places you against people with similar streaks. What better way to guarantee a near 50% Winrate, than placing 2 people with 6-game win streaks against each other. >8{D

Oh never thought about it that way, or maybe they match people on winning streaks against players in parties :O. All my sweet win streaks T.T, turned into lose streaks.

Well then its not working becouse i am on a 9 losing streak and have won only 2 of my 12 games played in the last week, and 4 wins in my last 20, im writing a massive post about it.

Either that, or there are too many losers in your Party 8{3

Its a conspiracy theory, not a serious system 8{3
