Hi ,fist of all sorry if general dicussion is not the right place to post this , secondly i just started playing dota 2 , it's been 1 week since i installed it , and all i have done so far is play with every hero once , while playing with team i want to play with only 2 or 3 heroes until i get good with them but having trouble selecting hero. i want some hero who doens't initiate , and have ranged attack and if someone tries to kill me i can run away quickly as part of my ability not items in my inventory , my idea is to just observe people fight where i stay back attack when needed and then run away quickly lol.

it's obvious i don't necessarily need high damage.

i thought of nature prophet and Drow ranger (with movement speed buffed and attack speed) problem with drow ranger is she doesn't have anyway to run away quickly and doesn't really have any armor or much life.

please share your thoughts.
Thanks for your input.

Windranger might be about what you're looking for.

if you are looking for a carry try clinkz or weaver. clinkz is basicly a better version of drow ranger. drow is a pretty bad hero. even in low level pubs if you have little knowledge of what items to get.

weaver is extremely hard to kill but squishy. he is good early game but falls of midgame if you dont have enough farm. get a black king bar or linken's and then a damage item like desolator or monkey king bar. if you dont want a carry windrunner is great.

lich is a straightforward support. doesnt need to attack that much and has nice movement speed. especially with tranquil boots.

Weaver, Windranger, Mirana. All good for what you're wanting.

i would go with SkyStormSpectre's suggestion and give Windranger a try.

She is quite farm independent (which is always nice if you are a new player), has amazing utility - Windrun allows you to escape quickly while also giving you 100% (!) evasion against physical damage - and can do a good chunk of damage with Powershot. Her Shackleshot can be rather difficult to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, you can disable 1 or 2 heroes for a very long time .... just keep in mind, that you dont have to use it directly onto heroes to try to stun them, but also can target a creep which is standing in from of them

I agree with the Windranger suggestion, and if your new generally playing a support role is probably best.Just be aware the she is pretty squishy, if you get stunned you can go down quickly. Mana is also a problem for her, Powershot isn't something you want to spam early game.

Queen of Pain also fits your requirements.

If your fine with being an initiator, Batrider is also a good option. Storm Spirit and Puck as well, though they they require a bit of skill to use effectively.
"Windranger" is not how you spell Windrunner.
