It looks pretty cool (although I prefer the original), but personally I'm hoping that DotA 2 isn't about to become LoL with new skins etc : /
Morphling puts the 'ling' in bling and the 'Lin' in linken's sphere.

What's wrong with more cosmetics?

You can take a sad song and make it better, but you can't take sad remake of a successful mod and take their money ploy.

LoL was a sad remake of a Dota (wc3 mod/custom map whatever you wanna call it) and adding the fact you can buy skins/heroes was their way of getting money. Why take their money ploy.

So we shouldn't be able to get cosmetics (ice candy :D), thus paying/SUPPORTING Valve + Icefrog, simply because LoL used it?

Saying that LoL is a remake of DotA is like saying WoW was a remake of Everquest. Kinda ignorant, in my opinion. It's nothing like DotA, it simply took the basic mechanics of it and made a version of it that would appeal to the masses. It's still a completely different game, though.

I would hardly say LoL was a poor rip off of Dota... It is highly successful and introduced many new and different aspects of the game. Cosmetics was not introduced by Riot.

Anyway, sick skin! What would you call it?
Mess with the best, die like the rest.

LoL was a unique game in its own right. It took the advanced, scary parts of DotA and made them more accessible while still allowing that idea of 'deep strategy' to permeate your decisions when arming your character. The gameplay was more fluid than WC3's engine allowed, and the addition of more skillshots really struck a chord with a large subset of the original WC3 DotA community.

The fact that they made more money through using their extensive art team in order to make more hero skins is just gravy. It's not like they personally incentivized the purchase of skins through anything other than sales and hero packs, so I honestly see nothing wrong with LoL's business model.

Honestly, I think it's wrong to behave in an elitist fashion when conversing about LoL or with LoL's fanbase. LoL is a different game that appeals a different audience than DotA, so who really cares if it's successful or if it's easy? Most of the players attracted to LoL you never would have met in DotA, so it really shouldn't concern you.
