I agree with your points.
Though i think the 2 games are much more different than alike. Dota 2 is Dota and League is an MMORPG. In dota, you don't carry stats after each game. It's the knowledge you carry after each match.
LoL - time and/or money
Dota - experience and/or skill
Time for LoL because you have to play to get heroes and other stuff to buff you up. Knowledge/Experience in dota to keep up with veteran players.
Money for LoL to skip Time, but both would work well. Skill in dota, though not a complete replacement for experience, skilled players would still be useful if you're pitted against experience players. Both combined is better as well.
Also, as a dota player, dota 2's UI isn't a problem. I think it's a problem for those who came from LoL since LoL players are accustomed to the minimalist UI. Though I have no objections if they were to minimize it like LoL. it's fine either way.
