Quoted:

Buy the game, you get a 20 heroes and ALL items, and then you buy extra stuff like skins and maybe some heroes.
If it will be f2p, it will be full of ******ed children and the community will get messed up like the original DotA. Players respect a game when they purchase it and they dont act like ******s so thats the only reason why it should be purchasable.
I wouldn't mind if i would have to pay a monthly fee because I <3 DotA

The original dota community wasn't ****ed at all.

The original DotA also wasn't as popularized as DotA 2 is, and most of those kids didn't even know Warcraft was a RTS game. Now with LoL in particular, I see all these little kids that have never played DotA griping about "elo hell" and they can't wait for DotA 2, where they will probably be met with an unpleasant surprise since this game has a much higher skill-cap, and you get brutally punished for doing stupid things, as opposed to LoL where you get a slap on the wrist for extending then getting ganked.

I'm hoping they go with the one time purchase path with the addition of microtransactions for cosmetic changes. I think many players would take their accounts more seriously if they know that getting their accounts banned results in them having to pull out another 30-60 dollars out of their pockets for a new account. Also I never really liked the whole deal with spending money or grinding influence points for each champion in League of Legends. It's always felt constricting when it comes to things such as ranked play.

Exactly my point.

Most likely do the same as hon. Originally you can buy it and have ever hero and buy skins as you please. Later on game is f2p, but you need to buy EVERYTHING. Although it isn't the greatest move. Dota 2 is the most known moba release so far, so it seems to be the right move as MOST will buy it originally.
