I would like a one time payment myself. I have spent so much money on League of Legends. However, I will not be upset if Valve takes the clever path and does micro transactions. They really are the future of gaming.

P2P
Valve makes P2P games really good, and the only F2P game is TF2 and look how bad the community turned out to be?

P2P is what World of Warcraft is, 15 dollars a month. Micro transactions seem to be the way to go at this point in time, it earns companies a lot of money.

I strongly believe the game itself will be $45 first few days on Steam, then it will jump up to $60 after that, I really don't see a reason as to why they would leave out micro transactions when they're such a great source of income. It might quite possible be a hybrid (retail purchase + micro transactions). I guess we just have to wait and see.

I don't think thats a good Idea, not many people will purchase it and then spend even more money, unless there rich. But to be honest who knows, in my heart I just hope its a one time payment if not free to play.

I now think that Valve should release it as a one time purchase much like WC3 was, while having some micro transactions to buy vanity items such as skins, terrain change (-water random commands etc.).

I really do hope that all the heroes are availible from the first purchase, I do not want to have to earn Lich >.>

I can't see Dota 2 having restrictions on heroes since Dota's learning curve is pretty high and there are over 100 heroes. Also the Hyper Carry exists in Dota, which makes veterens capable of roflstomping the newbies

I only played DotA a bit(before I lost one of the WC3 disks) and I've been playing LoL a fair bit. Mind explaining to this newbie the differences in role for DotA and whats different between a Hyper-Carry and a regular Carry(and if there are Hyper caster etc.)
