Hi guys, I'm new here. Well, basically not a new member, since I sometimes go here to look at your ideas, and just recently sign up.

One thing that I want to ask, any programmer/coder here? Do these hero and item ideas have been realized in Dota 2 engine?

When I went to this site, I actually looking for any interesting hero that could be played with, and try to build them.

Since I am a programmer myself, when I design a new hero ideas or (your ideas), I actually create them in-game, fighting with and against actual Dota 2 heroes (using Dota 2 Custom Games feature) for joy. I thought there may be another one like me.

Is anyone there?

Will be good and all but I prefer if you will join the Dusk team in the dota 2 workshop or any workshop custom games with custom heroes(Dark Moon, Definitely Not Dota etc.) or maybe a demo of a hero from this forum as a start.

Thanks for the response!

Those groups were good. Did any of the idea here were implemented in there?

I think there are some good heroes here, and they deserved to be created.
Or maybe, I can teach the creators on how to actually create it themselves.

How'd you all think?

If you think so, maybe I would start Hero Creation tutorial using the blog.

Actually, no external tools needed to implement your own ability ideas; not even Dota 2 Workshop Tools, or being a member of Steam Community! All you gonna need is only Dota 2 and Notepad (though I highly recommend a more sophisticated code-editor, like Sublime Text). You only need external tools to create your own models, sounds, effects, and ability icons; while importing them is as easy as writing the code. The game will be played offline or LAN, off course, but at least you can actually move the hero around and cast their unique abilities!

Therefore, as long as you are able, or willing, to learn some basic programming, especially in Lua, you can play your hero in the game!

Will it be seems like custom game with empty map and created hero? Will there be an opportunity for others to use this?

Of course not! You will be using the actual Dota 2 map for a real deal, complete with the important ancient, defensive towers, expensive items, tango-able trees, restless lane creeps, sleeping neutral spawns, and good ol' Roshan, who also drops Refrosher on his third death!

The map also has 10 player slot, which each of it can be filled by you or your friends; fighting each other with your own created hero (but balance it before playing please).

As long as they have Dota 2 game, anyone can play the hero you created, as it only involves copying several script files; no Steam subscribe, download, etc, etc.....

Why do you think so? You can show it to just anyone as well. Creating custom abilities means that you create your own script files. If you share the scripts, anyone can use them and try them on their own, unless you don't want people know what you write (sadly, I don't know an easy way to pre-compile the ability scripts).

So, if you want to have fun creating, playing, and balancing abilities you design and share them, just wait for the first tutorial on my blog.
