How to win with ultra greed picks? Well you simply dumpster the mid Alchemist in the early game, they have no way to come back from it, and then you just farm with your 2 hard carries...

I didn't realize how unfair the Medusa versus Alch mid matchup was up to now... Mystic Snake makes Alch completely unplayable in lane. And then you steal his stacks all game :)

Thanks for the Dusa vs Invoker counter btw Hamster...I've been having so much fun with that :). Mystic Snake is pure evil in that matchup...and exactly what cocky 'voker players deserve.

I remember we had this discution and you said I ain't right. Couple weeks later, you realise it's not exactly like that. TB is a paper hero.

TB players need to understand that Black King Bar is an item in the game for TB, especially now since enemies know illusions from the main hero apart. You also need to finish the game fast. That's why he has Metamorphosis, not to outdamage a late game hyper carry, but to finish the game before those heroes get fat and just dumpster him.

Yes, you need Blink Dagger+ Black King Bar in your inventory if your game is going to go for more that 40 minutes.

Tb is kiteable as hell and to fix that you either get those items or finish the game when you don't really care because you got form+illusions+tons of auras, defensive spells and zoning spells from your team to just stand still and hit towers.

I can agree with all the things you said,

But you just cant dumpster a terrorblade if he went the right build.

You may say this applies to any carry, but a tb can make short work of enemy carries bar none.

I said carries; not supports though

To be honest I wasn't the one who gave you this idea. I actually wanted to put Dusa in my list but I ultimately didn't because some might think that Invoker counters Dusa later in the game because EMP. In truth Dusa matches up pretty well against Invoker at any stage of the game but I didn't want to start an unnecessary discussion about how to properly dodge and have good positioning to deal with his skills. Short version is to NOT waste your BKB on EMP, instead try to dodge it with butterfly/manta or tank it and regen mana with bloodthorn, because you should keep BKB up to purge off the disarm from Deafening Blast (which is the real issue, EMP is kind of a joke in comparison). But then if you do that you can tank his other skills and actually teamfight and push into him...something very few heroes can actually do.

Mystic Snake is a great skill to deal with people who don't know how to play against it. In truth it's really easy to position yourself as a 600 range hero as to not get hit by it (or to put Forge Spirits in the way to tank it), but Dusa isn't played that much so people haven't adapted to that.

Black King Bar, definitely. In some games it's an absolute must. TB is the illusion hero who needs BKB the most IMO. Half of his damage is dealt by the main hero and there is Sunder which means that everybody wants to stun him. Other illusion heroes can let their illusions do the work but TB can't do that.

Blink Dagger, tbh I see it more as a "win more" item. If you're 15-1 at the 30 minute mark, then sure you buy blink after skadi and just kill everybody. But then you would probably have won that game if you went dagon anyways.
In the late game, it doesn't matter that you get kited as long as you can outdamage and outlast everybody. Because then you can just go rosh, walk down mid and kill buildings. They can't stop you, and they can't rat you because in a baserace TB pushes faster than anyone else.

@KCAF : Kyfroid isn't trolling or even making a lame attempt at it here. If you think dotafire needs a true troll (which is a valid opinion) show us how it's done and take the vacant throne ;)

I usually find you'll hit him 2-3 times with it at level 1 and he'll learn not to stand next to the ranged creep anymore, or to run as he sees you cast. It still tends to disrupt their laning though. Once I get it to level 2 or 3, I'll just snake him in the face him directly every time he comes into range. His int is so high you lose very little, especially if you can combine it with an advancing wave or such like.

Usually going Tango / Ring of Basilius start, add a Wraith Band then Phase Boots, with a couple of Clarity potions to top up when necessary. Even with a roaming Space Cow from level 3 onwards in the last game, it wasn't really a problem due to Mana Shield and 'Voker barely being able to cast. Might swap out for Fairie Fire if I can blag a Tango from my team.

On Terror Blade - worst build I've seen on him is Radiance/ Octarine Core/ Manta Style. Team spent the whole game creating space for him and he wasted it on items which did no damage. On the other hand, I've seen TB's carry well late game against some pretty hard carries. His DPS is pretty sick, he just needs some survivability and control from his team.

If you're kited you don't deal so "outdamage+outlast" doesn't work here because you deal no damage in the first place. You can't carry a game with 6-slotted TB if your team sucks because it;s incredibly easy to deal with him if his team doesn't help him.

Q is a medium range slow that can be dodged with blink and doesn't work in fog.
E has a 140 sec CD and slows him, plus without he is very underwhelming.

No catch, no protection from anti-carry stuff apart for 5 second BKB, average without his form. Yes, on paper it is really cool to have 3k hp and extreme DPS but in reality it doesn't really matter because there are tons of stuff to kite you with. I mean, ofc if you have, say, Bat who just lassoes a key enemy hero that's an easy win but we're talking about pubs and in pubs TB is far from best lategame carries, at least in my experience.

Like, just compare him to Storm. Storm doesn't deal nearly as much damage as TB does but he's still way better than TB lategame because he has almost 100% uptime, can't be kited and at the same time can kite almost everyone.
