so ive made an account just to learn the old magus of great hair and one liners and ive run into a problem.

i have no idea how to play him early game pre aghs. none. i always.. ALWAYS lose early game. even when i sit in lane and farm and farm and farm.

late game? (if i get there) ez i have no trouble with late game i know all spells and late game im getting ramamshamading****s all over the joint but early game he feels slow, unresponsive and weak.

i find i win most when i go q-w build with an early urn orchid. lose nearly always when i go exort build. i come online earlier with q-w and i feel better quicker in this build but exort just ugh and early game like pre 7 is just painful. i have no trouble once i get aghs and everything is so smooth, once i get aghs we win but if i cant get aghs we lose.

i max invoke at every chance just because i like to be able to get spells when i want them. people tell me this isnt the way to go but 24 seconds is too long for me. he is too squishy for me to go aggressive in lane with q-w, with exort i can but hes too slow to get the best positioning quick enough and i always find im out of mana which for me is weird since im usually good with mana effcn.

i use legacy because im old. lmao just to give an example. pre invoker spam the account was getting placed in unranked games around 4k... after 30-50 invoker games its in 2k......

halp invoker players?

Really? QE is the closest thing to an autowin in lane that you can get.

The early game, you only really need three spells: Cold Snap, Alacrity and Sunstrike. Sit on the first two, Sunstrike to assist your team with kills and ganks. You can very easily get kills with those three spells assuming you can hit sunstrikes.

Pre-Aghs is all about using the right spells at the right moments. Play him less like a caster and take advantage of the fact that you have right clicks of about 300 with high Exort and Alacrity.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

You need map awareness and micro skills for QE. If you don't have those don't go QE.

I agree with what the others said. Alacrity, cold snap and sunstrike are all you need in lane. Also, meteor early game is pretty devastating too.
