1.) Blade mail is not an activate deactivate item with mana drain cost.

2.) Strength, Agility and Intel stats are not quite different enough.

The Fix

Strength = Plus 1 damage and Life pool

Agility = Plus 1 damage, armor, attack speed

Intel = Mana Pool, Magic Resist

Note that they all parallel each other in some way but are still different

3.) Blade mail doesn't work against towers

A risky way to move the game along and a way for non pusher intelligence to push

Well, you could also argue that agility should be adding and building up a small dodge % chance rather then armor since agilities don't have the life pool to make since of a % based defense unless there was a life pool enhancing hero in the game.

This problem might be more outstanding on items like blade mail and shivas guard for intel heroes who occupy the vast majority of the "ranged" classification". Why yield armor to a small life pool when they need their core version of blocking "dodge".

But blademail plus dodge is a confliction of intention... why reflect if you're going to dodge?

But none of that needs to be changed because healing, (the role of the healer) is in the game)

Therefore, the original post stands strong and true.

There's also no reason why hand of midas shouldn't be a flat physical increase rather then attack speed.

Change the recepe and then I'd agree as well. So far, it gives you stats based on it's components.

I don't think there is anything wrong with midas, because what I think it should be doesn't seem possible...

Another option, if plus magic resistance per intel point is not correct...

A very small percentage cooldown reduction instead of the +1 damage... per intel point

It might even have to be so small that it would be a decimal though, who knows

I actually like that idea a lot. I don't think it'd be good to put in the game, but it's a really cool concept and might even be balance-able. It doesn't automatically mean every INT hero is going to spam their spells constantly, since they still need to purchase items to support their more frequent spells, and gives them a better damage scaling later.

And it's even percentage based reduction so Land Mines and Black Hole get buffed by the same proportion. Nice.
