I wanted to talk about the usage Tango, but not in the ordinary way.

We all know, that it regenerates HP slowly, and it isn't interrupted when you receive a hit. It's common knowledge, but what about trees that are destroyed upon Tango usage?

No, and I don't mean juking purposes. I want to discuss something different.

This is a starting item, thus it is used mostly during laning stage. On safe lanes of both sides (top for Dire and bottom for Radiant), we have trees that are blocking vision to the jungle. When I am supporting on the safe lane, I am trying to cut those trees with Tango, when I need to heal up, so that I have better vision on potential ganks, or offlaner movements. Of course you can put a ward there, but sometimes they will deward it. Of course you can also walk there and act like a ward yourself, but sometimes you will not be there.

This is not a huge tactical thing, just something that I noticed that could be used. To be more specific, I am cutting those trees, that are on the verge, on the edge of the "mini-forest".

What are you thoughts about this? Which trees are you cutting with Tangoes, during laning stage? Do you even think about it, or you just use Tango on the closest tree?

Those are the trees that I am talking about.

There's an item better suited for that, Quelling Blade. It is good on most melee carries and some players usually cut some trees on thier way to the rune and back to lane. You can tell them to do it if they didn't.

Yeah, but I was considering mostly supports, and not many of them have Quelling Blade.

As I said, you can tell your carry to cut the needed trees if he has Quelling Blade. In other cases, you can cut a maximum of 8 trees on lane that way, and even if you manage to do it it won't help much as you won'tcut the whole "mini-forest" and ganks mostly occur at night so even one tree will block a lot of your vision.

Ok, but you don't want to cut all the trees, because you may prepare for a kill on the enemy offlaner, especially with aggresive trilane.

Simply put: Cutting the trees gives vision to all parties - it's a situational act. Spending your tangos only to cut them is very rarely anything other than wasteful. Taking a moment to actually consider which tree to tango with when you need HP is good but not necessarily useful. I usually cut trees closer to the tower to create some extra juking pathways.
This is my signature. This is my dotabuff.
