INTRODUCTION

______________________________________________________________________________________________
A terrifying spirit created by uniting a thousand of souls of the warriors fell in the War of the Magi; Visage roams this world with never-ending thirst for souls. This restless ghost consumes the essence of the enemies he slays, and the death moan of his victims is what he enjoys the most. The weakening power of his wrath puts even the greatest warriors in misery, and the sight of sky filled with Visage and his undead minions is unimaginable. He is a nightmare in its worst, most sickening form, a true living horror, the Necro'lic.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

Necro'lic is adept in producing a pile of hero corpses. He is a somewhat flexible hero, in that he can vary widely in item stack. Visage is a hero that is meant to create great ganks and revel in team fights. If the minimap is absent of Visage, you had better hope he was slain, because he's coming for you!

If something is not understood fully regarding the color code, please comment with your question / issue.

ROLE and POSITION

ROLE:

Visage: GANKER

Necro'lic, the Visage has always been an underrated and underplayed hero; though major revisions to his kit have been made, he still remains a quite hero among high ranking and competitive game play. Regardless of his popularity, Necro'lic remains a great GANKER and an adequate SUPPORT late game. Visage may produce a huge pool of damage, but he is not the CARRY; he may also have extreme survivability at times, but Visage is not a TANK. Necro'lic's key point to winning is to make sure the enemy has the worst possible early game.

POSITION:

Assuming you bought your starting equipment as suggested and are wondering what to do now, you might want to consider your lane or jungle position; for the purpose of this guide you will head to a DUO lane. You may become active in a TRI lane for early blood, you are an early game hero, take advantage of the fact. Necro'lic is most compatible in the SAFE lane because he needs the extra early experience, and has great survivability. You will want a good support who can pull creeps for you. You should never SOLO as Visage, you can not hold your own enough to win MID.

BOTTLE and RUNES

Bottle: A bottle should be PICKED UP if you plan on roaming a lot; in which you should try to have full control of runes as you should with any gank hero holding a bottle.

Illusion: You do not benefit much from this rune, this should only be PICKED UP in special cases.

Double Damage: This should be picked up EARLY and MID game, and avoided LATE game.

Invisibility: Generally not needed, but for a sure gank you may PICK UP.

Regeneration: SITUATIONAL, for the most part you will pick this up if no one needs it anymore than you do.

Haste: You're not exactly the fastest hero, and you lack a proper escape mechanism, PICK UP.

EARLY GAME

(A) GANKING ORIENTATED:

Lvl 1: Farm accordingly, and stay somewhat close to the tower.

Lvl 2: Use your Q only to secure first blood or escape.

Lvl 3: Save casting your W until next level, continue to farm.

Lvl 4: If you haven't already, try to secure a kill using your Q and W in conjunction.

Lvl 5: Start roaming, gather runes, ward appropriately, and gank without stealing the kills.

Lvl 6: You should be full ganker now, Use your R frequently, DO NOT let the familiars die!

(B) GANKING ORIENTATED:

Lvl 1: Farm accordingly, and stay somewhat close to the tower.

Lvl 2: Use your Q only to secure first blood or escape.

Lvl 3: Use your Q only to secure first blood or escape.

Lvl 4: Save casting your W until next level, continue to farm.

Lvl 5: If you haven't already, try to secure a kill using your Q and W in conjunction.

Lvl 6: You should be ganking now, Use your R frequently, DO NOT let the familiars die!

SUPPORT:

Lvl 1: Support your lane partner(s), Cast your W only to secure first blood.

Lvl 2: Support your lane partner(s), Cast your W only to secure a kill.

Lvl 3: Support your lane partner(s), Cast your W only to secure a kill.

Lvl 4: If not already try to coordinate first blood, using Q to slow.

Lvl 5: Play aggressively, harass consistently.

Lvl 6: Use your R to effectively scout runes and jungle. DO NOT let the familiars die!

TEAM FIGHTING

Coming soon...

FRIENDS and FOES

Commit to the undead, or cut your losses?

To be a successful bat you will be heavily relying on your teammates, a good line-up is your everything. You need heroes that are TRUE SUPPORT, you may be a late game int hero but you can't be relied on to commit to supporting. You also rely on a good CARRY with a good CC to net the kills; you're not supposed to be gaining mass kills, just creating them.

+ ALLIES:

Being somewhat of a spell spammer you have some serious foes. Below are some of, not all of, the heroes that make your life a living hell. Enemies that shut you down consist of having a SILENCE, MANA BURN, or can slam you with an AoE CLEAVE.

PLEASE READ

These guides are somewhat time consuming to produce, and most of them do lack some at the moment, but for the most part I believe they provide enough information to play properly with the given hero. Even though the guide is still UNFINISHED, I still need feedback on how to better it. The item build and such is always up for change, and your opinion is wanted as long as it's not something that smashes the entire guide because you don't like a little detail. Please keep in mind: if you have the time to read this guide and vote on it then you should have a sufficient amount of time to comment what pleased or displeased you.

TLDR:
Please take the time to provide feedback.
What can I change? What areas need improvement? Is the guide visually unappealing?

Very nice xCO2, I do like the style and yes it is visually appealing. You're adding enough content to give an in-depth look at Visage whilst maintaining a format that is very easy for someone who is just looking for a build and a bit of info.

Keep it up, +1 and I can't wait to see the end result!

Well that was perhaps the most unique guide I have read in a while. Solid points to back it up as well. You never really justify your level up choices but that means little to nothing. +1

I tend to not justify many things in my guides, they are more of a "here, read and follow directions" kind of deal atm, I left each of them at this state and they will each be revisited at an appropriate time with full justification.

:) Thanks for the comment as well, positive feedback always lightens my day.

I haven't played visage much but could you use your familiars to farm the small camps while you lane? You alternate stunning the creeps while attacking them. do you think this could work or provide benfits or is it just a waste of time if even possible. you emphasise visages ganking so i know this wouldnt be a whole game thing.
nice guide as well +1 and sorry for my grammar im using a foreign keyboard and only know where the . button is lol

Technically you're supposed to use your familiars the entire game for ganking, team fighting, and scouting; but I myself use this technique of farming. Just make sure you do it properly. (ie: don't miss out on a team fight because you were trying to get 200gold with your familiars.

He'd be the support, when you're in a Tri-lane you'll have a hard carry there. Look up Purge's guide on Youtube to tri-laning; you should be playing as he advises.

You really can't farm properly with Familiars, since every attack they do reduces their attack damage charge, dealing next to nothing with enough attacks. It is mainly a gank/teamfight ability, while using it to scout, and as an added bonus, it can deny runes. Stone form has a long-ish cooldown for a 1.5 stun, so I wouldn't use it to farm the small camp.

I'm questioning your item/skill build though. Maxing Soul Assumption first is no brainer (and it should be taken at level 2, you want a hard hitting nuke that fast.) but why cloak at lvl 1? It doesn't do jack all, Chill should be the skill taken here. I also think that maxing Cloak over Chill is the better build, personally. As a support, you really need to be surviving in fights and cloak gives you that added bonus to tank damage. Chill at max rank only adds another 3 seconds for a mediocre slow, so it's just a one point wonder.

And.... orchid? You won't have time to farm for that, and you're not auto attacking. Go for more utility items like Drums of Endurance, Force Staff, and Mek. You're also usually the 4 or 5 in a team, so definitely get wards (which you have listed in your items so good!)

One more thing, bottle on Visage is meh. You're not midding and you don't benefit from rune control. 90% of the time the mid will be having a bottle, and they wouldn't want you jacking their runes.

Farming with familiars is not included in the guide, he asked if you could, and I told him it is possible and that I wouldn't recommend it. I personally do use them when it's off cooldown, and usually when taking out a camp the attacks provided is enough to drop/stun them for the creep kill. You actually should not be using it as a scout as much as you think, securing runes yes, but generally you should be careful waving around a free 200 gold.

It seems as you actually haven't read the guide, because within the guide it is pretty clear you get quite a bit of early game gold. The Orchid synergizes quite well with your early-mid game role. You have a silence, a nuke amplifier, the mana regeneration is good, and the extra attack potential is an added bonus. You may not be an auto-attacker but your familiars are not sufficient on their own.

A bottle is picked up because you are a ganker, Visage is not a hero that you just pick, he is a very situational pick and you should have communication with your team. You holding the bottle it allows your mid to farm more intensely and not have to worry about rune control. There is also build two, which if you haven't looked at is the route you take if you ignore the bottle.

From your response I believe that you think of Visage as a full support, and a lot of people do, so for the people who are looking for this build I'll add in a third build consisting of maximizing your support potential. Thank you for your feedback. :)
