Basically almost every heroes can do good with mid as long as you build them right, but these are just a few that I think do pretty good.

Drow Ranger ,since you played LoL, She is basically ashe.
windrunner
Tinker
Invoker
Queen of Pain (not ranged but has a blink skill)
Zeus

Queen of Pain does have ranged attacks, what the **** Iratesniper? And indeed she does have a blink.

Also OP, read my signature for a perfect suggestion.

Viper has a passive that increases his attack damage, and is able to solo either Mid or a side lane relatively well.

That said, he tends to need decent farm to succeed, and you tend to get most last hits when you're in a duo/tri-lane and being babysat.

Never reccomend Invoker to a new player...

Also, Drow in mid lane is kind of stupid, she does far better in a side lane where she can farm solidly for a while.

The best mid heroes don't rely on auto-attacks that much. Queen of Pain and Storm Spirit are the only mid heroes that have good auto-attacks later on, but then they are reliant on spells as well. If you're new, try out supports. Crystal Maiden, Lich, Lion, etc.

Just because he's new to Dota2 doesn't mean he cant handle it, he has played LoL. Before you say anything about the learning curves, I've played LoL for a while before this, and it wasn't hard for me to adjust.

I will agree drow isn't the best mid, but I was trying to show him a hero like ashe. As for lich, I find him better as hardcore support.

Also, what is wrong with tinker mid?

Just because I'm not the best or know everything doesn't mean that I don't know what I'm talking about. Whether you like it or not LoL is a good comparison to this game. Also the only reason I brought it up was because in his other post he said that he played LoL and was looking for a hero like ones in LoL.

Since you don't read everything carefully, I would just be quiet if I were you.

I would like to hear more about your Invoker gameplay.
