This thread is made because I would like to point, that some commentators are very annoying and unprofessional.

At first I would like to talk about Pyrion Flax. As far as I kind of like his Announcer Pack, I can't stand how he is trying to be a commentator. First and most annoying thing I noticed is that he has very bad camera movement. In one game, his mate (can't remind his name) was almost all the time telling him when and where is the teamfight, but it was quite often too late, or right in the middle of the fight. He also once was paying attention to Io glitched death animation, while there were heroes fighting. That was unfortunately the only 1 English cast that game.
He is funny and I like the guy, but that thing just pissed me off.

Now about Bruno. I don't get this whole slang like: "sniperino" and other "-ino's" being repeated over and over. He also was speaking a bit in his native language, which I find terribly wrong.

Ok, they often treat it like it's pure fun, but it's not only fun. They have to give people the best view on what is going on.

P.S. I remember SUNSfan when he was casting DotaCinema XMG Captain's Draft Invitational tournament with syndereN, and he had no clue on Skywrath Mage abilites, Visage skills, what type of damage does Shadow Wave or Unstable Concoction. He had no idea what goes through Black King Bar, weren't sure how Pure damage works. Now I see he is way, way better. I guess he realized that he has to improve his knowledge when they invited him to be a commentator on TI4 Qualifiers.

What are your opinions?

Honestly, I can't watch a match without commentators, they make it way more entertaining for me.

Some things that you mentioned above are things that the viewers love, especially the Twitch chat.

I can enjoy almost any caster, but I can't stand the ones that get their mechanics wrong, like " Breathe Fire scales linearly"...muted. Never fail DOTA Math in my presence! Escpecially when it's something you can check by hovering over the Skill's Icon. -_-

Agreed, these aren't really a big deal, although I wish Draskyl et al. would talk about the game a bit more ._.

This is why I prefer watching through DOTA TV, I'd rather have my own camera angles, no matter who I'm listening to. Player Perspective FTW! 8{D

Not to mention, you can find some interesting things that the Casters will probably miss, e.g. I was watching Infused vs. My Carry can't be this Kawaii, looked at Infused.Cook's Cosmetic Items (using the magnifying glass on Wraith King's Icon, and noticed he changed his in-game name to "My Courier can't be this Kawaii" X{D

Things like this don't show up anymore thanks to the tag system locking player's names in. These days you have to look at their Items to see the gag names, and Caster's won't always catch the ironically named Couriers either. 8{3

I watch quite a lot of matches during a week, mainly as it fills a lunch break but also since I can only fit in about 4-7 games a week, its a great way to learn / absorb game situation knowledge without being able to play lots of games.

Commentators, as Hades states, makes the match ups so much more entertaining and for me they always provide the extra information that I look for in games.

I do really like it when Tobiwan and Capitalist come together and commentate, especially Tobiwan whose enthusiasm really shines through.

My thoughts exactly. I can't watch a game without a commentator either. I've learned many things about Dota with spectating and listening to commentators.

My favourite one is Tobi for sure. Capitalist is also very enjoyable to listen (that deep voice). I just hate skipping the damn fights. Pyrion has like no map awareness at all, even while he is not playing.

Does pyrion ever controll the camera? He is better as a funny co-commentator.
Capatalist is fine but he is not one of my faves and his game knowledge is limited.

Before the XMG captainst draft sunsfan hadnt commentated that much dota 2, but i really like the sunsfan+synderwin combo.

The GD studio is also pretty funny, it can be quite chaotic but it always makes for entertaining games.

Tobi-1-Kenobeeeee, nough said. I just LOVE his commentary, the guy is a genius at it, LD, synderyn, Ayesee, Capitalist , Bruno, Luminous are all good.

Man if you would have watched TI 1 you would have loved bruno, I still laugh at the thought of no-legs joke that he made.

I prefer the joinDota Casters over Beyond the Summit casters. Mostly due to Tobi and Cap.
