Would someone be so kind as to explain why I hear so much about Techies ruining games ? I only started DOTA 2 last February due to a mate giving me a key before it was open - so I have never played DOTA 1.

It is the kind of hero that makes you feel like he sucks when he is on your own team, and he tears you apart if he is on the opponnents team.

Imagine a hero who can hardly fight but drops invisible bombs. Hou have to do this really well or else your team just fights 4v5. He is not your generic nuker.

I hate this all "gimme techies <333" thing that is going on in Dota2 community. I see him being most picked hero when released.

He is OP on some pubs, because he is almost useless with good detection. He may be also popular among new players, because they can still contribute for their team using Suicide Squad, Attack!, since it's a pretty straightforward, simple ability.

I just hate this hero. I think Valve was doing their best to delay his arrival, but now it's possible...

I think they'll be top pick for a week, then drop off, like what Phoenix and soul keeper did. I think part of the reason is that the (noob) meta favors ganking, snowballing carries which is why bloodseeker and riki are so popular among noobs. As they realize that the techies have little direct combat capability, they'll stop being picked a lot.
There's no earthy way of knowing which direction we are going. There's no knowing where we're rowing, or which way the river's flowing. Is it raining, is it snowing? Is a hurricane a-blowing? Not a speck of light is showing, so the danger must be growing. Are the fires of Hell a-glowing? Is the grisly Reaper mowing?! YES! The danger must be growing! For the rowers keep on rowing! And there's certainly not showing ANY SIGNS THAT THEY ARE SLOWING!

Jakiro + Necronomicon = Towers are gone is seconds.

I have nothing against Rat Dota. This is how you win the game. If players on the opposite team lacks in map awareness, then don't complain - you deserve to lose anyway. Dota is not only about teamfights (it's the most enjoyable part, though).
