I returned to Dota 2 about two weeks ago. I played my ten ranked matches and received a decent mmr. 3500. I then kept playing and now I'm up to 4600 on that account. I then decided I didn't like my win ratio much so, I created a new account. On this new account I'm currently level 11. I've noticed that rather than placing me with players of my skill level, I'm being placed with players of my account level. I honestly don't understand. I was under the impression that even when you're not playing ranked that the matches were based on mmr? It seems to me they aren't because I'm constantly placed with level 11 Spanish or Russian speaking noobs. Thoughts?

Well you've made a new account so it won't know if you're good or not... yet. There's not enough games to properly calculate how good you are yet. Since you have low amount of games, you'll most likely be fairing against newer players, noobs or low priority players.

Unless you're rocking a high amount of consecutive wins and dominating each game to get to the level of your older account, that's what you'll get for now. Many of the better players are mostly in Ranked MM now so you won't find as many games with accounts that have high play counts.

Just stick to your older account lol, there's no point in starting over for such a menial reason. Especially since you jumped from the 3000 bracket to the 4000 bracket, why waste all that time and effort to inflate ego with meaningless stats?

Well, the sad thing is that I have 102 games played on this new account and 78 wins. Honestly, how can the game not have noticed my dominating enemy teams? Side note: I'm not trying to be an ego-maniac,but, the other players have been horrible. I guess you're right about the win ratio thing though, Nubtrain. I'll just return to my other account I guess.

Edit: Quick thank you, when I started playing DotA 2 again, I had forgotten how to build SF, your guide helped me out. :D
