Hello all! with the introduction of ranked matchmaking by valve we can now see our rank. Which leads to a question; what is the max rank and what is the minimum? I can see my number but have no idea if its good or bad and would like some clarification. Thank you :)

From Valve's Official Blog-Thingy
Quoted:

To give you a feel for the range of MMR, below are some MMRs corresponding to various percentiles.

10% 1500
25% 2000
50% 2250
75% 2731
90% 3200
95% 3900
99% 4100

In other words:-

2500+ is okay
3000+ is good
4000+ is High-Skilled
4500+ is pr0
~5000 is Pr0fessional (I think the guy I know who has 5000 said this was the maximum, not sure)
9999 is Icefrog

Bear in mind though, this is according to data that Valve receives, so I doubt things like good Positioning, Ward Placement, Tactical Sacrifices, etc. are taken into account.

I looked for my number at the weekend - where is it located or do you actually have to play ranked matches before you get yours ?

EDIT - just read it and I need to crack on with my 10 games.

So, does anyone feel the difference between normal and ranked? I played 5 games so far, and I won 4 of them. People are so cooperative in ranked, and are willing to listen to what I have to say, and their skill is above the ordinary pub player caliber.

Rankeds are full of love compared to normal pubs for sure. I think that people mentality changed and they feel more competitive now and they want to go for high mmr.

Ranked matchmaking is a really nice place. At least you won't (like I do in pubs) get consistently paired with players with 1 commend on friendly who have Sniper as his featured hero, and is level 1.

Would love for people to use it more though, there not nearly enough people who play so the waiting time is pretty high.

I only played one Ranked Match so far, but that is because I don't want to be paired with a Legion Commander who Feeds non-stop then blames their Team again -_- I have to admit though, there were a couple of players who were communicating quite well, but that just turned into being mad at LC. I think that Ranked Matchmaking will end up the way you guys have experienced it, but it's gonna take some time, until the Feeders and Trolls get bored of the new Mode. ._.

So mines 2083. Though maybe playing non-stop support and getting very few kills compared to deaths has something to do with it. As far as it being a nicer place.... Yeah generally I have found so far though in the ten matches I've played of it 3 of them a team member starts the whole "I'm pro" BS and it became a yelling match. Oh well I guess I'll play more till I'm 2500+ so I don't feel so meh.

Valve have said that they have tuned it for longer wait times so it makes "better" matches. So longer wait times aren't nesseccarily saying that there are less people playing.

I agree that the community on ranked is much better. Everyone wants to do well and no noobs or trolls. So far, out of my 4 games, they have all been super close. I mean one team about to win and the other having quite the comeback.
