I'm a 24-year-old gamer nerd from the West Coast of the United States. DOTA 2 is my first true foray into the MOBA/ARTS world, as most of the games I have played are either FPS, action-adventure(platformers & sandboxers), fighters, sports games and puzzlers, save for the few times I tried C&C games as a tween who (at the time) lacked the patience for such endeavors. I'm looking to learn the game, have fun playing with players of varied skill levels, and even get competitive as I was in an FPS clan a few years back, so I have experience playing in clans if I get good enough at this to go that route. So far, the only heroes I have any real experience with are Jakiro and Lina, but I'm going to try learning a few more heroes soon.

I have some friends who are really experienced with DOTA but they're not always on to give me pointers or help me learn characters, so if anyone wants to help me learn a bit, or if you're a noob who wants to play with a fellow noob who won't bag on you for being new to DOTA 2, send me a friend request on Steam! I'm usually logged on by about 5-6 PM Pacific time(UTC-8/7 depending on DST), sometimes later, until what are the wee hours of the morning for me. Times may vary depending on my personal life. If there's anything else you need to know about me before you add me, feel free to ask away in this thread.

Note: I play mainly on US West and US East, but I'm all for playing with people from other countries so long as you can speak English well enough to communicate; the only other language I know more than a few words of is Spanish and I still don't know much of that.

TL;DR DOTA 2 noob seeks new friends for fun and learning experiences alike, live in UTC-8, not ignorant racist but decent English is a must.

You should look around, there's plenty of people posting these kinds of threads, hook up with some of the other newer players on here and you can read guides and learn together. There's plenty of people on these forums that range from new to pretty savvy, there's also members looking to teach others.

Thanks xCO2. Will do! I just saw how many pages of threads there were when I was on earlier, and I was being lazy about looking through them. It's been a while since I've lurked around on a messsage board. ^_^

And thanks also Hero, hopefully we can get some games in after your holiday.
