Situation dependent. A lot of factors need to be considered when you decide which item to make. Even if the enemy has a right clicker like Lycan and you're playing a durable strength dps like Sven, there's still 8 more players to consider. Would a bkb work better if the enemy team has a Tide? Does the Tide have the farm to be a presence or has he been effectively shut down? Has the Lycan farmed enough? Etc, Etc.

Unlike Battle Fury, the Halberd isn't a core item for any hero. But it's useful when you're tanking a high amount of right click damage as opposed to magical damage.

Honestly, it's utility as compared to it's price isn't quite high. You can get an Orchid or a Desolator for close to the same price. So I try not to buy it unless the situation demands such.

it's a utility and situational items. You don't have to get it on melee str, usually the 3rd will get it to counter the enemy hero. It's a good item to go against right clicker such as void, ursa, naix. As far as i can remember, the effect stays on even when the enemy use BKB afterwards. it is a decent items but kinda situational.

I agree wiht all the above, but would also add this is my one of my top pick situational items for any hero I play. It is a counter to about 1/3 of the heroes in the pool. plus it really is good on a support that already has disables, when used situationally. I have used it on heroes like Bane, where I was able to utterly disable 4 of their team members and allow my team to win every team fight. If there is an Urza on opponents team, or Lifestealer it is usually the item I get regardless of anything.

The strentgh you get can help any hero with survival, the maim is very effective wwhen your team is chasing down that last guy who tried to run away, and since you already bombed all your skills in the team fight with your support, you just auto attacked and supported the team even more by slowing the piss out of someone.

I will contest my self though and say that Eye of skadi can serve better survivable stats then halberd plus with its slow, but it costs more money, and in most games there is always going to be one hard carry. Plus if you let your str carry know you are getting it they can focus on other items, like abysall blade or something, allowing them to get even more dps then the halberd has to offer.

I use it as my last item for Clockwerk

- Arcane Boots
- Blade Mail
- Radiance
- Heart of Tarrasque + Heaven's Halberd = Tons of HP, HP Regen, Tankyness, Survivability, Durability, and Damage

I think on a hero that's role is to disable, like a beastmaster or a shadow shaman, its extremely good. a sange gives more hp then a vanguard, the evasion gives a lot more EHP.

those are my two cents.
