There was a time where skill brackets were removed from Dotabuff. If you look up matches of any player, even old high MMR dogs you'll find no bracket there. AFAIK everything from 3.2k down to the bottom of the sea is marked as normal now. VHS used to start at around 3.8k, don't know now cause I, for one, get placed into VHS on games with 3.7k+ average.

My most recent game (played 1 hour ago) hasn't got a listed bracket though. Maybe it just needs to register the game or something? idk

Thanks again for all your answers ! Another question (yes, one more ! :D ) popped into my mind this morning. You know how the game defines the role of the different heroes with the little icons : carry, initiator, jungler and so on... nothing new here. But I was wondering what is the difference between a support and a LANE support, as it is defined by the game ?

What's your view on that ?

I'd guess a lane support is a more defensive support like Omniknight who is great at controlling the lane and keeping a carry alive, but isn't too great at ganking. Compared to a hero like Vengeful Spirit who is very good at ganking other lanes.

Lane/Support is a bit arbitary really, they're all still supports, but I'll give it a go.

A lane support (or "babysitter") tends to be pretty good at controlling the lane through denies/harassment and/or protecting their carry, making it easier for them to farm. For example, Winter Wyvern, Lich or Dazzle. They tend to be bad at ganking/roaming and played as hard support (#5).

A support covers these guys, plus everyone else who's in a non-core role. For example, I'd call Sand King a support (he can also be played solo), but he's generally a bad lane support, as he can't harass, heal or control the lane especially well.

When I hop into a new match with players I have never played with before because I mostly play solo, do I trust my teammates? Is it always better to be trusting your teammates rather than not trusting them? I find this similar to the way pro players can play in a team and they will all trust each other to make the correct play.

I would say, trust them until they do something stupid and refuse to change. If its something once or twice you can ask to make sure they try not to repeat the mistake, but if it gets obvious they are trolling, then stop bothering about them. If they are just bad, then try to give them advice so they can get better. Its better than yelling and shouting "noob" or "idiot" over and over and make them sad to have started playinh

Never trust them, and especially never trust your life to them. If there's, for example, Omni in your team, always assume he won't Repel or heal you, buy your own BKB. If there's a hero with a skillshot you need him to land, always assume he won't(this actually has almost nothing to do with trust, because **** happens). If your carry had a very bad/good start, expect him to never come back/throw all the advantage 1 vs 5 in the enemy jungle.

Because this is what consistently happens on every skill level even with the best of us, let alone your average dumb, ill-mannered and malicious dota player.

There are several uses of smoke. However there is a thing called "taking extra safety measures" for which you still have to be careful. Don't forget you can always fake a rosh in smoke and rather gang them. Sorry have little knowledge over this but thats pretty much it.
