So by the time you hit lvl2 and take that 1st point in Kraken Shell, you've already more than halved Stout Shield's effectiveness.

Dota maths best maths.

Thanks DotoFire team. I will change my ways. Is boots rush a thing on Tide? I can see the merit in it... A lot of offlaners are doing it these days, not just Batrider anymore!

Boots first on him is ok, but he already has a pretty decent movespeed.
And he can just stay in lane because of his tankyness and cant really abuse a movespeed advantage, since you dont have kill potential without help untill level 6.

Xiao8tango build (2 sets of tango's and salve) is the better build IMO and ive used it many times. You just keep chewing on tangos while forcing yourself in lane. You can very effectively trade hits with supports and even screw over some lasthits if the enemy carry is melee while getting lasthits yourself.

Well the most desesperate move I've seen on a tidehunter was a Poor Man's Shield
Questionable, but the guy I played with was 5.6, so I guess there is a reason behind it
