Viper is a terrific laner and ganker. His orb makes him a powerful harasser and to make matters even better in lane, nethertoxin increases damage to both heroes you harass and creeps you last-hit. Once Viper has his ultimate, gank heavily. However, you can't gank alone against decent players. Your damage output is easily sufficient, but you have no way to interrupt tps.
Most Viper builds try to tank him up a bit, relying on his skills for damage.
Orbwalking is a very important skill to master - manually cast your Poison Attack and immediately issue a move command to cancel the animation and close in to your target. Manualy casted Poison Attack also doesn't cause enemy creeps to aggro you.
