DotA2 Hero: Windranger

The guide to the All role WINDRANGER

Introduction

Hello everybody THis is Lintang88's guide to Windranger. Windranger is an ranged intellegence hero. She is a Disabler,a Escape artist, a semi-carry, and a support. But wahat i think that she should of be a Nuker that deals a heavy damage spell and gives a long stun for enemies. And also she can be a very hard Pusher with her focus fire, by giving herahghanim and adesolator everything will fall as you pass.

The story of Windranger (i would skip this part)
The western forests guard their secrets well. One of these is Lyralei, master archer of the wood, and favored godchild of the wind. Known now as Windrunner, Lyralei's family was killed in a storm on the night of her birth—-their house blown down by the gale, contents scattered to the winds. Only the newborn survived among the debris field of death and destruction. In the quiet after the storm, the wind itself took notice of the lucky infant crying in the grass. The wind pitied the child and so lifted her into the sky and deposited her on a doorstep in a neighboring village. In the years that followed, the wind returned occasionally to the child’s life, watching from a distance while she honed her skills. Now, after many years of training, Windrunner fires her arrows true to their targets. She moves with blinding speed, as if hastened by a wind ever at her back. With a flurry of arrows, she slaughters her enemies, having become, nearly, a force of nature herself.

PS: this is the easiest hero to use when you have the right Teammates. Because this is DotA 2

Item's and gameplay for Windranger.

For my all role Windranger the item i would recommend for the early game are

1. Iron branch you would need these at least 2 to boost your attributes
2. Clarity you should use bring this item very often in my experience with her because her big use of mana on each of your skill. So having a crystal maiden will be VERY VERY USEFUL. 3. And the final item every hero needs a.... TANGO. yes a tango because a Windranger is super extra squishy that could be easily killed in the early game by Riki, Kunkka, Bountyhunteer, Tidehunter, and many others...

after 10 minutes you should get a first Blood with your partner. I would reccomend a llong stunner, nuker or a Nuke and slow skill such as Lich, Tidehunter, Crystal maiden, Winter Wyvern, and ETC

HOW TO FIRST BLOOD WITH WINDRANGER
step 1: pich the enemies slowest and squishiest enemy.
step 2: make sure to harass them with the ppowershot and quickly fill up your mana. This could also be used to stop the enemy heroes from using a Healing Salve or a Clarity to make them have short mana and low health and make sure that they can't stun or slow you when you are trying to kill his Teammate.
step 3: ATTACK!!! NO MORE THINKING. STUN HIM WITH SHACKLESHOT AT A PLACE THAT THERE MIGHT BE LIKELY A TREE. WHEN HE IS STUNNED CHARGE UP YOUR POWERSHOT AND DONT MISS. IF HE STILL HAS HEALTH AND NOT GIVING UP HIS BLOOD THEN CHASE WITH YOUR WINDRUN.
step 4: REPEAT!!!

After doing that tou would likely use up all of your clarities so i would buy only 5-10 clarities.Buy a boots of speed and if your inventory is full sell or put your branches at the hidden places close to the secret shop. Or sell it for extra money.

In the mid game you should already have a orchid malviolence, phase boots and a force staff. At this phase you should choose whether to pick an Desolator or a Eye of Skadi. pretty mad right but it combines well with Lyralei's focus fire, This enables tou to be a nuker or a Pusher that could break a tower in any second or kill an enemmy hero without any hestitation.

At the end or 30th minute you could buy a Mjolnir and a afghanim sceptre. just imagine the damage with a desolator combine with Mjolnir and low cooldown focus fire that will make you a solid pusher and quickly end a game.

Skill build and skill intro

These are Lyralei's skills.
1.Shackleshot

ALLOWED TARGETS: ENEMY UNITS
Shackles the target to an enemy unit or tree in a line directly behind it. If no unit or tree is present, the stun duration is reduced to 0.75.

Cast Range: 800
Shackle Search Range: 575
Success Stun Duration: 1.5 / 2.25 / 3 / 3.75
Fail Stun Duration: 0.75

Blocked completely when target is the holder. Not blocked for secondary targets.

Notes:

Shackleshot travels at a speed of 1515. and cannot be disjointed.
The projectile searches for enemies or trees within 26° at the opposite side of the target from where Shackleshot was cast from.
This means when Windranger blinked away after cast, it will latch based on the cast location, not her current location.
Shackleshot always prioritizes units over trees.
If the target gets shackled to a unit, both of them are stunned for the full duration.
The stun persists, even when the primary or the secondary unit or tree die earlier.
The stun also persists, when one of the target gets freed from the stun earlier.
When the primary target dies before the shackle reaches it, it still can latch to a secondary unit and stun it.
Can be cast on, but cannot latch on ancient creeps, Roshan, Warlock's Golem and the Primal Split spirits.
Can latch on invisible units, units in the Fog of War and the trees from Sprout.

Mana Cost: 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 Cooldown Time: 12

2.Powershot
Cast Range: 2600
Travel distance: 2600
Damage Radius: 125
Channel Time: 1
Damage: 120 / 200 / 280 / 360
Notes:

Powershot has an instant cast time before the channeling.
The arrow initially travels at a speed of 3000.
The arrow can damage units up to 2725 range away (2600 travel distance + 125 damage radius).
The full damage is done after the full 1.0 second of channel time. Each channeled 0.01 seconds increase its damage by 1%.
Every time the arrow hits an enemy, its current speed and damage are reduced by 10%. The arrow still will travel its full distance.
However, the visual effects of the spell do not reflect the current speed. Visually, the arrow will always travel at 3000 speed and travel until the damage reached the full distance.
The arrow grants 400 range flying vision as it travels, which sticks at its final location for 3.34 seconds.
The arrow destroys trees within 75 radius around it while traveling. Hit trees does not reduce the damage nor the speed.
The sound of a bow getting stretched during the cast and channeling time is audible to allies only.
This is how much damage the arrow deals (after reductions) and how fast it travels after hitting a certain amount of units:
1 unit: 108 / 180 / 252 / 324 damage and 2700 speed
2 units: 97.2 / 162 / 226.8 / 291.6 damage and 2430 speed
6 units: 63.8 / 106.3 / 148.8 / 191.3 damage and 1594.3 speed
10 units: 41.8 / 69.7 / 97.6 / 125.5 damage and 1046 speed
15 units: 24.7 / 41.2 / 57.6 / 74.1 damage and 617.7 speed
25 units: 8.6 / 14.4 / 20.1 / 25.8 damage and 215.4 speed

Mana Cost: 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 Cooldown Time: 9

3.Windrun

Slow Radius: 300
Move Speed Bonus: 50%
Dodge Chance: 100%
Move Speed Slow: 8% / 16% / 24% / 30%
Bonus Duration: 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

Windrun has an instant cast time, but interrupts channeling spells upon cast.
Disjoints attack projectiles upon cast.
Grants Windranger 100% chance Evasion for its duration.
This means that True Strike allows attackers to bypass the evasion. However, the disjointed projectiles upon cast will miss still.
The slow is provided by an aura on Windranger. The debuff lingers for 2 seconds after getting out of range.

Mana Cost: 100 Cooldown Time: 15

4.Focus Fire

CASTING METHOD: ACTIVE
TARGETTING METHOD: UNIT
ALLOWED TARGETS: ENEMY UNITS
Windranger channels the wind, gaining maximum attack speed on the enemy unit or structure, although with reduced attack damage, including damage from unique attack modifiers and item effects.

Cast Range: 600
Attack Damage Reduction: 50% / 40% / 30% (30% / 15% / 0%*)
Attack Speed Bonus: 500
Duration: 20

Reduces cooldown and decreases damage reduction.

Lyralei's ability to bombard opponents with a flurry of arrows is unparalleled - even at the expense of accuracy.

Notes:

Focus Fire has an instant cast time and orders Windranger to attack the target.
Only reduces Windranger's base and bonus damage when attacking the target. Damage from items effects (e.g. Monkey King Bar, Diffusal Blade) are unaffected.
Focus Fire does not guarantee full attack speed. The provided attack speed can be negated by strong attack speed slows.
Windranger can switch attack targets without losing the buff against the Focus Fire target.
When switching attack targets, the attack speed adapts as soon as the projectile is launched, while the damage adapts after the projectile hits.
This means when the attack target is switched, the first attack against the new target will deal reduced damage. The following attacks deal normal damage.
This also goes the other way. When switching back to the Focus Fire target, the first attack will deal normal damage, the following attacks reduced damage.
Casting Focus Fire on multiple targets will only grant the attack speed and damage reduction against the target of the most recent cast.
Focus Fire ends prematurely when Windranger dies, but persists through the target's death.
Can be cast on any enemy unit, including buildings, excluding wards, invulnerable or hidden units.

Mana Cost: 75 / 100 / 125 Cooldown Time: 60 (15*)
