Slark, the slipperiest hero ever

Introduction

This is my first guide, and it is a little less straightforward to make than I imagined, so be easy on me. Slark is my favorite hero, and i have learned a lot. This is my favorite way of playing him.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
-One of the slipperiest heroes in the game
-Very good at killing any lone heroes
-Good at trading hits
-Gets very powerful very quickly
-Snowballs

Cons:
-Falls off a little late game
-Squishy if caught
-Tempts you to dive too deep
-Bad at all out teamfighting
-Countered very well by Bloodseeker

Skills

Dark Pact is a very good nuke for ganking as Leap makes it easy to deal the full damage. You heal the damage very quickly, so it doesn't force you to go back. It purges stuns, so if you see a stun come at you, try to cast it. It is also good for farming the jungle. You hit the whole camp, then heal while going to the next.

Leap is your main ganking skill. Use it to leash your target for free hits. It also closes distance well, though later that will be left to Blink Dagger. It can be an amazing escape if you leap over a cliff.

Essence Shift is what makes Slark so good at trading hits. Even if they deal more damage at the beginning, you will catch up. At max level, the stacks last for 2 minutes. If you get 40 stacks, you can wait for your enemies to respawn, the hit them with the stolen agility again.

Shadow dance is in my opinion the best escape ability in the game. Total invisibility for 4 seconds is insane. You also move faster and regenerate more health than with Heart of Tarrasque. You can cast spells and attack without dispelling it, so you can dive a tower with it for free.

Items

Starting items are basic and don't need explaining.

In the midgame, you want boots, orb of venom and blink dagger asap. When you have those you can start getting pickoffs. When you get eye of Skadi you will become unstoppable.

Late game items are situational. Use your best judgement. For example, if you need to push, get Mjolnir. If evesion is messing with you, get MKB. Try to not get BKB. Only get it if you really have to.

Early and Mid Game

Try to go into the safelane. Slark doesn't have anything for the midland until level 6. Farm and get pickoffs in lane until you have blink dagger. After you have that, start roaming and finding kills. Don't dive unless you have your ultimate. Be careful. When you have Eye of Skadi you can kill just about anyone and get away as long as you have your ultimate.

Late Game and Teamfights

Try to stay out of the focus of teamfights. If you activate shadow dance, then blink in, they can't target you and you can kill their supports very easily. Their cores will be alone and your team will be able to clean them up easily.
Slark isnt very good at pushing and falls off late game so try to finish quickly. If you snowball hard enough though, you might be able to fountaindive their entire team and get a rampage the escape and be fully healed by the time they respawn.

Conclusion

I probably won't keep this guide updated, but it will probably still be relevant later. I hope I helped anyone who read this.
