Introduction

So....Here is my First Guide to Slark, First off! i would like to point out im not a pro with slark just a decent player

This is my way of playing him...you have your way i have my way

Reminder: The way i play slark is....to play like a cockroach SURVIVABILITY is his Main reason i love him, You want to kill a Hero and run into the forest and heal up with that passive

(I have poor grammar skills...so please don't mind it..)

Dark Pact

CASTING METHOD: ACTIVE
TARGETTING METHOD: INSTANT
ALLOWED TARGETS: ENEMIES
After a short delay, Slark sacrifices some of his life blood, purging negative debuffs and dealing damage to enemy units around him and to himself. Slark only takes 50% of the damage.

Radius: 325
Delay: 2
Total Damage: 75 / 150 / 225 / 300

Mana Cost: 55 / 50 / 45 / 40 Cooldown Time: 9 / 8 / 7 / 6

Notes: I like to use this before pouncing a hero. Mainly because all the damage goes straight to the enemy hero in 1-3 seconds if you time it right so it dishes out fast quick damage, also if you time it right you can get rid of stuns and silences

Pounce

CASTING METHOD: ACTIVE
TARGETTING METHOD: INSTANT
ALLOWED TARGETS: ENEMY HEROES
Slark leaps forward, grabbing the first enemy hero he connects with. That unit takes damage and is leashed to Slark, and can only move a limited distance away from Slark's landing position.

Range: 700
Leash Radius: 325
Leash Duration: 3.5
Damage: 70 / 140 / 210 / 280

Mana Cost: 75 Cooldown Time: 20 / 16 / 12 / 8

Notes: I Always take this for Level 1...His Main Move that he is loved and hated because of it, You gotta have accurate jumps and go for heroes who are running in straight lines

Its also great for escaping! You can jump into Forests ;) or Jumping off ledges to completely Escape Heroes

Essence Shift

CASTING METHOD: PASSIVE
TARGETTING METHOD: N/A
ALLOWED TARGETS: ENEMY HEROES
Slark steals the life essence of enemies with his attacks, draining all their attributes and converting them to bonus Agility.

Duration: 15 / 30 / 60 / 120
Strength, Agility, and Intelligence Lost: 1
Agility Gained: 3

Cooldown Time: 0.4 / 0.35 / 0.3 / 0.25

Notes: YES! This Badass Passive is his Ability that gives him more attack power and attack speed and Armor..The Reason I don't level this until level 10-14 is because i don't really find it very useful until i get all of the items i need to use this ability Efficiently

Shadow Dance

Slark hides himself in a cloud of shadows, becoming invisible, gaining bonus movement speed and regeneration while not seen by enemies. Attacking, casting spells, and using items do not end Shadow Dance.

Duration: 5.5
Bonus Movement Speed: 30 / 35 / 40
Health Gained per Second: 3% / 5% / 7%

Mana Cost: 120 Cooldown Time: 25

Notes: Actually i should said this is his main ability that he is loved and hated for...His Ability that makes him a Cockroach, Use this after doing Darkpact-Pounce-ShadowDance-Darkpact-Pounce. or This ShadowDance-Darkpact then quickly Pounce-Darkpact

Pros and Cons

Pros
Useful Ganker
Can be Tanky
Can get rid of Stuns,Silences,Barriers
Can Deal lots of DPS

Cons
Low Armor
Low Stats
Requires some Amount of Skill
Good Timing
Need to Listen to Teammates often, (Basically you are the Dog and your teammates are the Master) Your Teammates need to tell you whether to Sic Them or Not (Attack them)

Explanations

The First 6 items balance out everything...and lets you start building the Magic Wand

(Teleport Scrolls are needed...lots and lots of Teleport Scrolls )

Get some boots after the Magic Wand, you should be level 6-7 with boots, when you are level 6-7 thats when you start helping Top or Bot Gank. During mid-game you should be building the Eye of Skadi or quickly build a Yasha and then start building the Eye of Skadi.
The Eye of Skadi gives you much needed HP and MP and that AGI is great as-well plus the Passive lets you eat your Enemies quickly without being hurt as much.

Only after the EoS do you get a Morbid Mask to build a Vladmirs Aura.
I know i know..Why don't you get the MoM it lets you hit faster and eat your enemies faster blah blah blah I don't get it because of the extra 30% damage you take and while it might be great for eating 1-2 Enemy heroes if one of them stuns you! they can pick you off easily with abilities or even silence you after the stun then you lose your hope of escaping and doing shadowdance.

The Vladmirs Aura gives you a tiny bit more Life Steal plus the Aura does wonders for him, the Extra Damage and Extra bonus armor is great as-well...So its more safe to build.

After Vladmirs Aura buy a sange (If you have Magic Wand-PowerTreads-Yasha-EyeofSkadi-VladmirsAura. You should be having a great game! so quickly buy a sange and start building that HoT!
by the end-game you should have...3900-4025 HP and 1700-2200 MP plus a massive HP regen with the heart included you should be getting 250-330 hp regen. This Build makes you tanky and deal lots of DPS, the only thing you should be worried about is the a 1v5 fight...you should be able to take down 2-4 heroes if they kill you, or can massacre them ;)

Personal of way of playing

sir's way of playing

Be incredibly hard to kill! don't just go in and die (Being absolutely useless for the team makes them hate you) When playing mid call missing all of the time if you can (Most people don't like slark playing mid, Dont let them regret putting you in mid)

When going for someone with stuns and/or Silences and they come at you push that hotkey for Darkpact...Chances are they thought they could stun you or silence you then kill you quickly, with darkpact you basically smile devilishly and watch their hopes of killing you wash away with feeling of terror.

Reminder: Darkpact-Pounce-Shadowdance-Darkpact-Pounce. This Combo deals 1000-1350 DMG (Btw just for people who don't understand the numbers, You are also auto hitting them during the pouncing and darkpacts..)

BTW I've played games where people say OMG Slark your so OP And NOOBY go play another hero! and Jeez...we fed slark too much...Slark is way too OP He isn't! He can be countered hard with sentries and Gem of True Sight! He can be shut down early game by denying him creep kills and just going for him first during teamfights

Im sorry if i was hard to understand or did not explain properly...in that case! just use the Item build and test out things for yourself

End

Thanks for Reading

I have 80 wins and 60 Losses or 90 Wins and 80 losses (I don't really remember But that's okay for writing a Small Guide right?)

Listen to Smart Teammates

(Again...Sorry if you don't Understand the guide or the Text Grammar, etc)

Edit* You are going to be Basing quite lots for items. You see, You have to survive to Level 6-7. By then you should have Magicwand-boots-wraithband. but thats enough to start ganking, BTW You are slowly building the Build, like a Caterpillar to a Mutant HardtoKill Freak of Nature.

(During Level 3-4 Slowly harass the Enemy, wait for his HP to reach a certain point to where a Pounce and a Darkpact should bring him to 75-150hp then you auto attack kill him, you gotta be reckless often but if it all works out you should be fine, Also try to have the EoS by 17:00-26:00)

(also you know you are doing it right when the enemy compliments your Slark Skills after winning the game or losing the game, its better when they compliment you after you lose. also even if your team is losing give the enemy team a really freaking hard time to win, you could possibly make a comeback, (Story Time) I've Once won a 30-67 Game when the 2 carries were killed and we pushed mid hard and destroyed their ancient as the carries spawned.
