First of all if you aren't playing as a party, I recommend you not to pick this hero; Because he needs good communication to gank opponents.

Then ban heroes who always or most of the time, get Back King Bar, like Phantom Assassin, Marci, Troll Warlord, Ursa & ... .

In Early game, try to gank at every opportunity, as this will keep the opponent's heroes underfarmed. You MUST ALWAYS place wards wherever it is needed.

DON'T GO MIDLANE WITH SAND KING; This hero isn't a midlaner. He can do well in both safelane & offlane.

If you couldn't ban Black King Bar heroes before the match, try to gank them at every opportunity with your teammates. This MUST BE done CONSTANTLY to ensure your victory in the end.

As for items, after getting Arcane Boots, gank or farm a little then disassemble it & build Aether Lens. Then go for Blink Dagger & after that for Octarine Core. I recommend getting Aghanim Scepter & Aghanim Shard after that, but if you need other items, go for them.

About abilities, first cast Burrow Strike then IMMEDIATELY cast Sand Storm; If you have Epicenter ready, after casting Sand Storm, IMMEDIATELY channel it, or channel your Epicenter then Blink into combat & cast Burrow Strike & Sand Storm.

If your team is doing fine & you need more movement slow, at level 25 go for the left option.
