Competitive Role

Basic roles:
Hard Carry
Nuker

Role in prose: Luna is a hard carry that relies on her nuking power and ultimate to get the advantage in midgame, then transition to right click machine with scaling damage and multi-unit damage.

Luna is comparable to Morphling (nuker transition to carry) and Medusa (multi-unit right click damage).

Skill Justification

Max nuke first (unspoken rule of DOTA)
Stats instead of passives, as Luna's passive abilities ruin her lane control.

Max ult when possible.
Max Blessing next (but you can get one level of glaives early if you are farming jungle often).

Glaives last, during the mid-lategame when pushing power is important.

Pros and Cons, Strategy Discussion, Item justification

To be added tomorrow.

Item choice: Early BKB rush instead of drums is viable if huge teamfights are already occuring. Otherwise, early drums is better (easier to farm, better chasing, saves 10sec BKB for bigger teamfights late-game)

Allies

Anyone that will help you win your lane. Offensive support is preferred, due to Luna's low survivability/lack of escape mechanism

Chen/Enchantress offensive jungling and hard disablers (Crystal Maiden, Vengeful Spirit) are good allies.

Night stalker on friendly team can make somewhat good use of night-effect of Eclipse.

Enemies

Hard disables, especially those that go through BKB (beastmaster, enigma)

Summon/creep control heroes (reduces eclipse effectiveness) Chen, Enchantress

Heroes with magic immunity (Omniknight, Naix)

Silence (Nightstalker, Silencer, Orchid users)

Early game nukers (Tinker, Bounty Hunter)
