Lifestealer Overview

Lifestealer is a very hard carry capable of destroying entire teams, as well as staying alive if his target has a high HP pool. As good a hero as lifestealer is, you should not pick him up everytime your team needs a carry. Ursa and Faceless Void will be EXTREMELY hard to outcarry, unless you have SIGNIFICANTLY more farm than them, or, well, they suck.

So, Midas or treads?

Short Answer- if you can get 1900 gold BEFORE 8 minutes (this means no boots until ~9/10 minutes)
Long Answer - There are lots of things to consider when it comes to buying Midas :
1. are opponents very aggro
2. can you safely use midas 10 times before dying (USE IT IMMEDIATELY AFTER COOLDOWN)
3. are you willing to sacrifice being in team fights to use Midas.
4. Is your lane partner a heavy pusher (Kotl, PL, etc.)

After all this, remember you still need to get a healthy amount last hits, as well as being slower and lacking the early game advantage.

Solution : What I usually do is the moment I hit 500 gold I buy gloves of haste, and if I have at least 1400 by 7 minutes, I immediately buy Midas, and if not, well you probably have enough to buy treads at once, or pick up boots and buy belt after a bit more farm.
