Huskar's Leap of Death

Rivo
December 7, 2012

Introduction

Going to keep it short and sweet. Most of you DON'T read any of this anyways, so f**k it.

Name's Rivo, and this is the first build i've ver mAde, and I only hope that this guide helps everyone who likes this guy be an awesome killing machine ^_^

Oh, and if you dont know how to play this Hero, I would suggest that you might want to go play a few matches against some bots on Easy mode and get the hang of him and how to use his skills.

Items

The reason I've used the 3 attribute uppers in the beginning, is just for the litle bit of hitting power you get from them. When I start buying items and running out of space, I sell them off first to make room for the better incomings :-P

The first thing I like to build first is the Urn of Shadows, only because you basically have most of what you need to get it. Then next is the Power Treads for obvious reasons: More Moving Speed and because they give you more Strength. More strength = more attacking power and more attacking power mixed with his fast attack speed = more damage done to enemies. Next is the Ogres Club also because it gives more attack damage. Then I like to head over to the secret shop and get a Vitality Booster to get more health and a little bit more tanky-ness. My First completion item is the Aghanim's Septer. This item is Key to Victory. It reduces the CoolDown of your Ultimate skill to 15 seconds and increases your Durability. Next item is Heart of Tarrasque. It gives you a lot more damage output and durability. After you build this, you should already be stomping enemies. Sometimes it happens that I end up dying because of overpushing a lane or getting ganked, or just having a bad game. I like to add armor just to make the enemy team mad so they really cant kill me, and gives me tons more damage output. If the game is still going on at this point, I grab a Skull Basher. More damage and more damage and more damage. If they still havnt learned their lesson at this point in the game, grab an Abyssal Blade and cut through them like swiss cheese with ur ult and auto attack. If their still kicking get a Bloodstone so you can stay in their camp longer and kill them while running circles around their turrets

Ranked Play

When I play with Huskar, I like to use his W on creeps and the opposing hero(s) in my lane to get my health down to about 60% for the added attack speed the E passive gives you. Depending on the competition, I'll let my health slide down to about 45% while increasing attack speed just that much more.

In the beginning you won't notice how much faster your attacking until you get the Ogres Club with the added strength and then you see their health start to dissappear. Makes me LoL every time.

Though, the main thing to watch out for with Huskar is balancing your Lower Health and you opponents ability to stun and kill you. Its difficult at first, which is why I recommend going into some bot fights on Easy to get the hang of his skills and how to use him.

Skills

First skill that I get, is his E - Why you ask? Easy - for the attack speed it gives you even when you have full health. The skill is Great for helping Last Hit the creeps. It is also the first skill that I try to have maxed.

Second skill I get and second to max, is his W. His W skill throws a Flaming Javelin at an opponent target - Hero or creep - and also takes away some of your health. Which is perfect because the more health you lose, the more attack speed you have. And the more stacks of this you have on the opponent, the more damage they take over time ^_^
Be Careful not to go overboard with this skill, because yes the attack speed is great to get but your opponents are watching and will gank you or try and kill you with your low health.

The third skill is his Q - which heals him / allies quickly depending on how much health you/they have missing. useful after you have half of your health missing and ult an opponent and keep using W to get their/your health down. 1337 (LEET)

Final skill and the one I max out as soon as I can is the Ultimate (R)
Use this skill and find out what it does.
This skill also takes away a good chunk of your health when you use it.
Using the Ult when you have the septer, it brings the CD (cooldown) to 15 seconds
Hence - The Leap of Death >=D

Creeping / Jungling

I wouldnt suggest Jungling until after you have pushed your lane at least to their tower and are confident enough that the neutral (jungle) monsters won't kill you.

When creeping, like with all carries in the game, try to kill the minions with the last hit so you can get the gold. More gold = getting items faster. And carries are kind of item dependent.

I usually take the Bottom lane or Middle lane but I prefer middle so I can get levels faster and gank earlier.

Pros / Cons

Every Hero has their Good and their Bad.
Goods about Huskar are that
1. Great DPS if you manage health properly
2. Can dish out tons of damage without dying
3. Can be Very Durable and last in team fights
4. He has the Leap of Death <(0.o)< <(0.o)^ <(0.o)> ^(0.o)> >(0.o)>

And with Huskar's bads
1. Very Item dependent
2. If you get killed early, it can be hard to recover because lack of money and xp
3. His 2 Damaging skills take away your health
4. Need to be cautious about how much health you have and how fast you can get it back

Team Work

When not taking Middle Lane, you need to make sure that you take as many minion kills as you can, and harass the enemy as much as possible with your flaming spear. If your partner is another ranged fighter, dont be afraid to walk right behind your minions and shoot spears at the enemy. Be careful for stuns, especially after chucking a few spears because this is always when they want to come after you because the spears with W take a litle bit of your health. Thats ok though because if your not being stunned, your attack speed is up.

~Please be sure to save your buddy if they are getting killed, but not if theres more than 2 early game~

Summary

All in all, Huskar can be an OP (overpowered) Hero if played properly. I have tried to maximize the use of his passive that makes you atack faster, and stacked power and damage items to help you get rid of the enemies faster, along with a few items to help you last a little bit longer in fights.

If you dont think this is a good build and want to down-rate it, please leave a comment and tell me why. I'm not a Pro and this is my first guide. Let me know if you think there are items that would be better to use than what I've shown. All comments and votes (negative or positive) are appreciated.
