How to: Beastmaster Hard Lane

Items

Starting Items:
Standard Regen/ Stats with a gauntlet to go into a bracer, but swap out one of the iron branches for a soul ring recipe. The other parts of the soul ring can be built from the side shop.

The soul ring is to help sustain mana, as you will probably have to use your wild axes on the creeps to cs/ ancients for farm. As you are tanky you can fairly safely spam soul ring and not die.

Drums for some overall stats, and also give another aura that your summons and teammates can benefit from.

Mekansm as you are a utility support, also has another aura to help with pushing/ teamfights.

Blink dagger to initiate with blink+roar.

Aghanim's Scepter is great for Rexxar, lets you roar from a longer range, and gives survivability.

Boots of Travel as you can Teleport onto your hawk, lets you do some sneaky plays (especially with a Na'ix on your team.)

Assault Cuirass for if your team needs armor and your carry isn't getting one.

Dagon for the (k)ill (s)ecure/ intel.

Force staff gives better stats than, and can be substituted for, Blink, but is not instant and has a smaller range.

Ghost Scepter for if they have tons of (physical) damage.

Necro for the pushing power, with your boar and hawk.

Pipe for if they have tons of magic damage.

Sheep for dat instant 3.5 sec disable.

Vlads is also good for pushing, gives armor to your squishy supports and summons, gives lifesteal to your melee carry and all for an affordable price. Get it.

Laning

Don't die.
As an offlaner, that is your primary goal, even before getting experience. Now as Beastmaster, you have some useful ways of getting creeps to come your way, and with fairly low risk. At level one, use the wild axes to cut down all the trees between the lane and the jungle, so that supports can't hide behind it/ wrap round and kill you. Use axes to get some cs if possible. Try to stay just in XP range (~1000 units, slightly more than the vision radius [?]) without getting harassed. At xx:32, spawn the boar and send it to the ancients to stack, and the hawk to the pull camp to block it, and send it to scout any potential ganks after. If xx is odd, send the boar to the rune after stacking to protect it for your mid. If you're being zoned out, farm the ancient stack.

And don't die.

Mid to Late Game

Remember that your Primal Roar goes through BKB. Use it on the carry so that your team can focus him down, or to break a channel, such as enigma's Black Hole. You can also initiate fights by blink+roaring enemies caught out of position., but otherwise stay near the back of the fights so that you can use your abilities, but tank up if your team is taking too much damage. Don't forget to use all your items that have active abilities.
Always be scouting with your hawk, keep it around rosh pit or ahead of your teammates when pushing in.
If the game is very close, you can attempt to backdoor by using Boots of Travel on your hawk. If the game has gone late, keep the hawk near the enemy base so that you can immediately push if you win a teamfight
