Introduction

Enter the Weave.

Here you control your fate ... you shape the outcome of the Defence of your Ancient.

Weaver, is the most slippery hero in DoTA and one of the most powerful in my opinion. If played right you could go on for an entire game without dying and still be bagging the majority of the kills in the game.

When you do that, you will steadily accumulate the power to become an unstoppable force.

You will become the Weaver.

Gameplay

The best way to play Weaver is to take advantage of germinate to last hit as much as possible. It is also great for harassing.

I use Suchiki to strategically place myself in a battle. It is great for doing minor damage but in the end your attack has such high burst that you should use it for running away and positioning yourself.

I believe Weaver's greatness to be in short destructive bursts to enemies that set up battles in your favor. Even in battle, being a high priority hero, i activate my Suchiki and go stand at a separate end of the battlefield making it hard to lock onto and focus on you.

Remember that if you overextend with Suchiki then you can always trigger Timelaps to fix where you have erred.

And that is what I do, I use Timelaps and Suchiki in a very aggressive manner using Suchiki often to chase and after and secure the kill. Thereafter I simply trigger Timelaps and escape.

Lane Phase

Weaver treads in the space between spaces. He is the master of escape - nothing significant at first though. So you want to build a set of items that will set up some early game durability for you. Drums of Endurance are quite expensive but with the added stats and movement speed it is essential to the early slipperiness Weaver is known for.

You want to move into the the Drums and Power Treads ASAP.

After that you should analyse the situation. If there are many heroes who would be able to mess up your late-game with AoE damage and stuns go for the BKB.

If not, go for the Linkens Sphere.

I regard Maelstrom as a core item on Weaver, it doesn't trigger more often because of Germinate but it greatly increases your attack speed and damage. If the Lightning is triggered it adds to the damage instances within a set time which can give you quick high damage bursts to harass with pre-fight or when retreating/chasing.

You get the two Javelins because they will increase your damage and give you a good chance to have even more damage bursting in those quick pre-battle clashes.

Core

Here you want to focus getting your DPS up. By finishing your MKB you have a massive DPS boost - then increasing your attack Speed & Damage with either Butterfly or Mjollnir. You may go both. Butterfly is good VS most carries and I often buy Butterfly after Mjollnir.
