Effective Bone Fletcher

MOJO
May 13, 2012

Pros / Cons

Pros
[*] Killing Machine
[*] best windwalk in the game, superior movement speed
[*] Escape Machanism namely "Skelston Walk"
[*] Easy last hitting due to being range & "Searing Arrow"
[*] Gain tremendous damage & HP once you hit level 6 "Death Pact" >> Early Gank
[*] Can roam 24 hours due to "Death Pact" << Gaining HP & "Skeleton Walk" << Fast & Furious
[*] Pushing Power due to "Searing Arrow" & "Strafe"

Cons
[*] Very fragile when "Death Pact" is off
[*] Doesn't belong to the hardest carry namely "Anti-Mage" "Lycanthrope" "Morphing" etc.
[*] Very bad attack animation
[*] Need a lot of mana & mana regen in consistancy of roaming
[*] Again, all his skills cost a lot of mana

Introduction

Bone Fletcher is a fast killing machine, need some practice in order to use him effectively. You need to practice his attack animation in order to last hit in the early-stage but thanks to searing arrow, it becomes less problematic. Bone Fletcher is somewhat an item-dependent to some extent, so you need to farm well in order to bring out his effectiveness.

Early-Game:
[*] Farm & Last hitting
[*] If possible, nuke the enemy with searing arrow as much as you can, creeps won't aggro on you because searing arrow in considered "using skills" but last hit is priority
[*] Practice Orb walking to land more hit on enemy heroes

Mid-Game:
[*] Once you hit level 6 go into the forest and use "Death Pact" in Creeps specifically >> Centaur Boss, Troll Boss, Bear Boss, Bird Boss, those with more than 1000 HP.
[*] 2 Options here 1. Ganking while "Death Pact" is on or 2.Keep Pushing. If you think you can kill with your teammates help then go for the kill, if not go for the tower.

Late Game
[*] Push Push Push!
[*] Gank if possible
[*] Use "Death Pact" everytime is no longer on cool down
[*] Push separately from your friend if possible because you push really fast & got "Skeleton Walk"

Skills

Searing Arrow - Priority above all skills. It helps tremendously in last hitting. + 50 Bonus damage is a huge deal early game, the power of searing arrow is beyond argument

Skeleton Walk - This skills is what makes Bone Fletcher into Master of Ganking & King of Backdoor. Being invisible is dangerous but the best thing about this is that it gives bonus movement speed up to 44% at the highest. Having this allow you to roam around endlessly within couple of seconds & sometimes run away without the enemy catching up. I'd say that Bone Fletcher is the second most dangerous invisible heroes after Rikimaru.

Strafe - This is why Bone doesn't need a lot of attack speed items. All he needs is damage items that allow him to be the best at killing as fast as possible.

Death Pact - This is the reason Bone is superior than many ganking heroes. He gets both what he wants early in the game at only level 6 <<<. Damage and HP!!! is gained, not by little but by massive amounrd, around 400 HP + 50-100 Damage depends on the level of Death Pact. This skill is very strong and is why I love Bone Fletcher.

Why no "Strafe" at all before "Skeleton Walk" is max out?
Some people might ask but this is why. Even at level 1 Strafe cost a lot of mana "90", << This is a huge deal early where you don't want to waste mana. With Skeleton Walk as fast as possible around you to roam better & faster. If you need to get back to base before level 6, 22% of movement speed + helps you a lot and even for ganking. Strafe is not really needed early game. Stun or Slow from your teammates is enough to you to kill a hero with "Death Pact" + Orb Walking. To be able to move from side of the map to the other side within a period of seconds is advantageous.

Items

Here's the Reason for each items:

Ring of Aquila - Mana Regen & Pushing Power. Being able to have +2 armor to all your creeps helping you in the pushing tremendously and they can tank towers & other creeps more. Other guide suggest Medallion of Courage which helps inn killing power but I prefer pushing capabilities, it's up to you to decide.

Power Tread: Attack Speed + some damage or HP depends on the types of boots. The only boot choice for bone, also help with the attack animation

Orchid of Malevolence: Silence Ability contributes in teamfight + after damage. The Core things about this is its mana & mana regen the only things bone lack + this item is very cheap compare to sheepstick. Everything bone wants. You will realize that even after you bought this item, you might still have mana problem if you play bone really effectively.

Situational Item:

Black King Bar: I find myself usually buy this after Orchid almost all the time mainly because you can troll out on their team dealing massive damage in the confusion and nobody will be able to disable you.

Luxury:

Daedalus - This is the only main Luxury I would recommend because it extend your damage to the fullest + Critical hits will break away all their casters in 4-5 hits.

Monkey King Bar - Only get this if their team has evasion capabilities or someone with butterfly or after you get Daedalus

Item not Recommended:

Buttefly - Why? This thing doesn't extend your damage as great as the other 2 items above mainly because you have "Strafe". You don't need extra DPS from this, what you need is pure Damage items that wreck Havok.

Manta Style - The enemies will be able to distinguish between fake and real bone + this doesn't give a lot of damage. Your role as a bone Fletcher is dealing super power Damage.

Summary

Not much on the summary.

Your Role - Push as fast as you can, Ganking when pushing is not possible at that time, use "Death Pact" everytime it's off. This hero is fun, if you like to move fast, apart from prophet, this is the guy. If you really need a replay >> Find a player named "Sexy" the game I play Bone, it's all pub-play so don't expect much strategy or good gameplay.
