Windrunner is an Intelligence Hero that is picked quite often simply for the fact that she's unable to survive what's known has the Suicide Lane.
She's very useful through out the game and can be build as an Support and an Second Carry.
Has for Windrunner's Skill Build in an normal situation which will be in a Suicide Lane,
You want to start with one lvl of Windrun so that you can get away from sticky situation's and one lvl of that is usualy supposition until both your Powershot and Shackleshot are maxed
out with Powershot having priority over Shackleshot.
Has far is your Ultimate considered you usualy want to skip it until lvl 10 at the earlyest
most professionals dont put their Ultimate until lvl 14.
A nice starting set of items for Windrunner would include some kind of regeneration for both heal and mana and also include a couple Mantle's of Intelligence and of cource of known about courier or wards you should supply one of those as well and if you are in the Suicide Lane make sure whenever you buy them or not that you have wards on you so that you can block pools of the opposing team.
Although Power Threads and Arcane Boots are ok for Windrunner but most professional are up for Phase Boots, giving her a cheap way to gain +24 dmg.
The fact that her Windrun does not provide unit walking means this is also added benefit of getting Phase Boots, having lane control and being able to move you self for a excellent
Shackleshot are paramount for playing an excellent Windrunner.
Going toward a mid game a Mekansm is very common for both surviveablity and teamfight assistance. Has an replacement or even an addiction to an Mekansm Windrunner players pick up Force Staff at an consistent rate it's used in countless situation to add utility to your hero. When you get to late game all Windrunner that can afford should try to purchase a Scythe of Vyse as it adds a ridiculous amont of mana regeneration as well combines the cheap ability, a Orchid Malevolence is also an option since it also provides a lot of mana regeneration and its a lot easier to purshase, the silence can also be very helpful to certain lineups that main include heroes such as Storm Spirit although Aghanim's Scepter can technically be build on Windrunner its not recommend because to get the full effect you have to you have to have a Refresher Orb witch doesn't fit her play style what so ever.
Friends of the illusive red head will have to be just about everyone simply because she's one of the most first heroes in the entire game. This moniker comes being good in a support, solo mid and suicide lane roles, her Shackleshot is so gamebreaking that many teams first pick her
simply for the fact that she can span and have a chance to stun two heroes for a long duration. Heroes that absolutly hate Windrunner are those who deal a massive amount of magic dmg or those with stuns or slows, some examples are Lich, Tidehunter, Lina or Tiny and the reason for this is because Windrun is her only escape mechanism and anyone with slow or stun will have a better chance of containing her.
