Lycanthrope is the gank/ambush/carry hero that relies on his ms and damage to quickly kill enemies,although hes much more powerful in his werewolf/wolf form than in normal form,because of howl and feral impulse it cant be take it lightly.
+ Very high MS in Wolf form (Highest in game)
+ High damage in wolf form
+ Howl does wonders
+ Wolves on lvl 4 provide scouting,high damage,blocking feature etc (useful in many ways)
+ Jungles very well (Solo Roshan on lvl 8+)
- No escape mechanism
- Reliant on ultimate to kill efficiently
- No Aoe damage or ST nuke
Lycans sucess depends on your early/mid game,wether you jungled good right from lvl 1,you should ALWAYS have summoned wolves with for extra damage and possible escape (blocking enemies with your wolves since theyre invis on lvl 4 skill).
Strategy is:
Jungle from lvl 1,lycan is useless from 1-5 lvl but on lvl 6-7 he becomes killing machine,you can also harass enemies when wolves are lvl 2-3 (crit strike) but try to not to kill yourself,because you need fast lvl 6,anyway after lvl 6 youre ready for Junglegank,observe your enemies movement and attack lone targets like support/carry heroes,and maybe help your teammates.
For invis heroes Necronomicon helps well when you get it on lv 3,Dominator is useful too since you get more friends :P, like centaur with his aoe stun.
The rest is straight forward,farm when you can,solo Roshan,gank often,push often.
Because of his ability to buff other heroes especially melee ones Lycanthrope can help alot in team fights because not only to itself buffs more damage with howl but your whole team!
Anyway tactic is:
Summon your wolves,wait your team (hide behind enemy team) in woods,then wait when battle starts,Howl and rush in with turned on BKB and woila! You can get 2-3 kills (if enemies arent well farmed) but since they saw you they will run with half hp or full.
To push i recommand to kill roshan first but you can easily get towers in few seconds because you have alot of damage even backdooring.So use your skills always!
