The best way to play Axe is that you have to make many Last Hits that you can get a lot of farm. The best Hero that you can have on youre lane as Teammate is someone with an stun you two have to make woick kills so the enenmys dont get farm and you get for the kills farm and the creeps and when the enemys were the most time not on youre lane its very easy to farm for you ;)
So you have to play very aggressive!
