An unconventional way to play Mirana

Introduction

Hi fellow DOTA fans welcome to my guide. This guide is designed around playing a position 4 roaming style Mirana. However you can probably get away with Pos 5 if your team really needs the farm on other heroes.

The Idea behind the build is to maximize the effectiveness of the attack speed bonus given by leap. Leap is often used as an escape or to get closer to your target to use starstorm. its never really used for the bonuses it provides.

So I thought is there a way to capitalize on that? And so this build was born.

Items

Itemization wise you will start with a set of tangos, 3 clarity's , an observer ward (plus sentry if they have an invis hero) and a town portal scroll. The 1st 5 minutes of the game is spent like a normal pos 4 roaming Mirana where you will try to create kill opportunities for your teammates with your scared arrow.Arcane Boots is the choice here as it ensures that you will never run out of mana.(Plus having more than one Arcane Boots on a team feels so good)

As your primary aim with this build is attack speed you will build Drums of Endurance as your 1st item. The idea behind this is that you will boost your teammates attack speed significantly along with your leap.(Bear in mind that Leap provides 64 Attack Speed at level 4 so combined with Drums when activated it gives a whopping 89 attack speed increase)

As far as item choices go after this it entirely depends on the enemy draft.

Lotus Orb: As you already have arcanes you have already invested in this item partly and this item is almost never a bad pickup.Especially good if the enemy team has a lot of single target abiities or silences such as orchid.

Medallion of Courage/Solar Crest
:Another really good pickup if you feel that your team is lacking damage.Plus it help take Roshan faster.

Helm of the Dominator: I'm still experimenting with this item as the aura adds onto the attack speed focus of the build however using creeps to your advantage can be tricky (Really good if you can dominate a siege creep).

Necronomicon: Again a really good item that may be a bit difficult to farm especially if you are a 5 position Mirana.Buy it if the opportunity presents itself

Skills

The skill build is pretty standard with the priority being Starstorm First as it is the best reliable damage output. Arrow being maxed 2nd and leap being maxed last. Mirana's Ult Moonlight Shadow will be picked at Level 6 however will be ignored for the later levels as the other skill are better in comparison.

Talents

The Talent tree is mostly irrelevant save for the level 25 Talent as the other talents are pretty meh. Both choices at levels 10,15 and 20 are good.

At level 25 however the plus 100 Leap attacks speed is significantly better then the 3 Multishot arrows as it basically goes beyond troll ult level with the items that we have built. While the multishot arrow can be better if you land an arrow on more than one hero. I personally find that the arrows are more obvious with this talent so it might actually lead to more misses than hits. It is still good for scouting though as it provides vision over a relatively large area.

Ranked Play

I pretty much came up with this build with climbing MMR in mind. Being a 4.5k Trash Player in the SEA server i often found that teams struggle to end games.(For some unknown reason drums of endurance will inspire teammates to push)

So the scenario is usually like this:

1: You enter a ranked game

2: You ban Tinker/Venomancer/Bloodseeker/Invoker Cause they are annoying

3: Half of your team is afk/ afraid of being counter picked.

So this leaves the people who actually care about the draft to pick support and in this phase it is usually better to pick a hero who can lane or play in multiple positions,

Luckily for us Mirana can be played in literally any position so this makes for a good 1st pick when the rest are afk.

Pros / Cons

Pros:

1: You can motivate your team to get off their ***es and start getting objectives with Drums and Leap

2: Since Mirana can become a semi core going late game is not as much of an issue.

3: Counter picks are usually underwhelming. I've seen people picking Abbadon to counter this and well it makes it simple for me I just need to arrow Abbadon then.

Cons

1:Can be underwhelming if your team does not capitalize on your attack speed build/ are focused more on dealing magic damage.(There is no point of going this build if its an all magic damage team your better of focusing on other items.)

2: If you have a greedy draft this build probably wont even get the chance to kick in as to much resources will be spent just trying to recover your lanes rather than creating an advantage.

Summary

So in conclusion i hope this build will help you chase that never ending thirst of acquiring that +25 . If you have any comments or suggestions feel free to point them out.
