Medusa is an agility hard carry hero.Although Medusa has very little stat gain overall she has a great carrying ability due to her skills mana shield and split shot.
Pros:
Good lane control, mana and last hit with mystical snake
Nice last hit animation
Excellent late game potential
Cons:
Very squishy before level 2 mana shield
Low mobility
Almost no killing potential (just hits and direct snake does little damage)
All kinds of supports for making easier your laning phase.The heroes who can save you from death.Later on Initiators works miracles with Dusa
Dazzle,Witch doctor,Keeper of the Light,Vengeful Spirit,Wisp
Special mention #1 Magnataur with this guy using RP you can basicly right click enemy team to death.
Special mention #2 Clockwerk with hookshoting in if he traps 3 or more people in Cog they are screwed.
Mostly gankers in the early game and later on people who can mana burn your shield away.
Some examples are Nightstalker,Anti mage (with manta) ,Phantom lancer (with purge),Nyx Assassin,Naga Siren (with purge),Keeper of the light.
Note:If you are fighting against illusion heroes such Naga or Phantom Lancer remember to save your Stone Gaze for when they are trying to start the fight and prepare to counter rush the enemy team after stone gaze.A fight versus illusion heroes can go either way depending on your use of stone gaze .
Pick the easy lane for yourself with some support hero.
Note:You can go to mid lane too.But prefer to give it away to some ally that is more level dependent than you,remember your first priority is farm.
Try not to miss any last hits of course its almost impossible.A couple of levels in stats will help your last hiting power as well as give you a higher mana pool for mystic snake early on.You should probably get your treads and ring at around 6-7 minute mark.Then you should aim for linkens sphere it pretty much boosts your effective hp by much and gives you the 1 skill block which is quite nice.
Note:1 level of mana shield in the early levels should be enough.Personally I prefer stats over the mana shield because stats are more reliable on last hits and giving you extra mana and you dont have a big mana pool for mana shield.
Normally this Phase of the game ends at around 15 minute mark earlier or later,but try to prolong it as much as you can.
BUT YOU SHOULDNT DESTROY ENEMY TOWER so the lane doesnt get too pushed and you can farm closer to your tower.
At this point if your tower has fallen or the enemy tower has fallen consider starting to move around the map.Start buying tp scrolls and seek the free farm at any place in the map even in jungle.You are now free to take down towers since the enemy team will try to gank you anyway.
Note:At this point you should always keep an eye on the minimap you should see at least 3 enemy dots far from you to be safe.
Normally you should ve got linkens and treads and you should go for manta now.Try to farm your manta with minimal teamfight participation which will delay it.
After you got your manta if your team is doing decent without you and its a close game even in 4v5 consider going for divine rappier (especially if you have good initiation and mass crowd controls).
Consider going Roshan too with your team (Wow first real dusa contribution) pick it for yourself if you made the choice of making divine rappier or save it for someone whos more likely to die if you didnt make rappier.
Note:Unlike most heroes Medusa can support a divine rappier by herself since you already made Dusa so tanky (Manta and Linken) and with aegis of the immortal it never fails.
Note:Think about going for an orb effect/attack modifier some of them work quite good like Eye of Skadi (which gives frost on your right click attack but on the rest attacks of split shot it doesnt slow) or some others dont cooperate at all (for example if u crit with daedalus your critical doesnt split you only hit the main target,same happens with mjollnir)
Is Your damage more than +150 ?If yes then pick split shot.If Not then save it for later.
At this point you become a beast than is impossible to bring down and deals aoe damage.
Your split shot splits 80% of your damage in 5 targets.Good enough to clear creep waves fast and given a good initiation (clockwerk/Magnus) clear the enemy team.At this point your most crucial item should be butterfly.
Note:If your enemy carry cant die consider making hex or orchid if he is based on his spells.
Note:If your enemy works with illusions and purge use your Stone Gaze wisely
Not much to say here if you had a great early and mid game you should be already raping the enemy team.
Most significant of them are ZSMJ and Burning.

ZSMJ is considered the best Medusa player
Note:Remember to always use your mana shield once you use manta because it turns it off.
Note:Medusa doesnt need black king bar because after mid game her effective hp is over 5000 with just linkens and Manta style.So save your slot for a bigger impact item (notice that dusa should get only luxuries to be effective)
Note:Also never pick medusa if you dont trust your team.That makes dusa a non pub pick.Even the greatest players if their team isnt playing for them while they play medusa they will probably fail.So avoid picking medusa in pubs.
