A Waskily Terrorblade Guide

Introduction

Since this hero has been released I have played and gotten to know the in's and out's of the demon Terrorblade, and i gotta say not a single person I have seen was able to even get more then a few kills and died enough times to even fill the belly of roshan, so I've decided to let everyone in on how Terrorblade should truely be played. It really isn't that difficult its just a matter of knowing when to use metamorphoses (Meta) and his sunder abilities, and once you've gotten that timing down you will be unstoppable.

items and reasoning

When building terrorblade you gotta remember Speed and Damage are your best friends and you must build around the fact that if built properly you can move just as fast if not faster then your average bloodseeker, with this build I have gotten away from many a bloodseeker looking to finish me when my sunder was on cool-down, and the speed will help you get into those team fights fast and help get you to the strongest hero on the other team so you can let lose your sunder ability, try to follow this order when building him i follow this every game and it hasn't failed me yet. when starting the game buy all the starting items, you will use these to build the Bracer, the bracer is good early game item because you get that general stat increase and it helps a good amount with his early game. You're probably thinking"but wabbit why does terrorblade need the morbid mask?" simple ill tell you why, when your in those team fights and the other team is being decently smart and aiming mainly for you, that leach will keep you alive when your either out of mana or sunder is on cool-down, a smart TB will know when to run and when he can hold down a team fight and using a morbid mask and turning it into a mask of madness gives you that attack speed bonus and keeps you at full health 9 times out of 10, TB is still a carry most think they can just sunder everyone they see but that's not the case early game, so keeping your health up, in the early game is VERY important and mask helps achieve that.

This to me is where the order of the items you buy are critical to the mid game, and can cause you to either fall behind or take the game to an entire other level for TB. Build sange and yasha after you have finished building your morbid mask, i personally prefer sange first to add the slow to my attacks and keep them as close to me as possible in case i need to get sunder off, but either or doesnt matter as long as you build sange and yasha first. second build your boots of travel, they will be what makes you so broken believe it or not. The boots give you that absolutely broken speed and the ability to be everywhere at once, there is no bigger threat then an already broken hero that has now gotten the ability to jump all over the map and chase down any hero he pleases, and escape any situation. Third build your manta style, once you have manta use it mainly after you've popped Meta, nothing sends chills down an enemy teams spine like 5 giant demons soloing towers no smart player in there right mind would even think about coming close you you. The only thing you really have to worry about is legions arrows that destroy illusions but even by the time you have manta you even the fact that the illusions are destroyed by that move wont phase you. About whe your ready to build your manta style sell/drop your stout shield its useless at this point unless you plan to build vanguard.

Now when it comes down to the situational items its really all a matter of how the game is going and how you like to play, personally i usually get daedalus for those crits but any of those items will help in finishing off the enemy team. The shadow blade is really a troll item and what you could do with that is pretty straight forward. When you have no health use shadowblades ability run to your nearest enemy hero and pop your sunder, and finish him off. WARNING using the shadowblade will cause imense frustration of the enemy team, just a heads up.

skill build

When building TB skills its pretty straight forward, build META UP FIRST, but only after you've gotten level 1 on both Conjure Image and Reflection. Having Meta at full strength makes you very tanky early game, and makes it almost impossible for heros to kill you one-on-one, that 80 bonus damage really makes the difference at any point in the game.

Second build up your Refelection, for obvious reasons, longer duration and more damage delt by the enemy illusion, the longer that enemy is locked and running from you the better. you dont need to worry much about Conjure Image, when meta is active and you use it, they still getting that 80 damage increase, the time that they stay out is always going to be the same. With that being said the cool-down is just perfect to be able to have 2 illusions of yourself up at all times and if you time it right maybe 3 for a very short time.

Keep in mind when building sunder that the mana cost decreases dramatically from 250 mana cost to absolutely nothing making it, in my opinion the most broken ability in the game, simply because you can go from having no health to full health and ****ing over someone simultaneously for literally NOTHING AT ALL, MAKE THIS ABILTY YOUR BEST FRIEND, YOUR COMPANION CUBE, YOUR ****ING CROWBAR. ;)

Strategy

Put the item build aside, this is what matters, how you play TB early game. Its all about the early game with TB, play aggressive, but careful, remember hes not a strength hero hes an agility hero so hes going to be very squishy early game. With that being said it is possible to play him as aggressively as you possibly can. What you want to do when in lane is always aim for the melee hero, why because there closest to you giving you the chance to use your reflection on them as much as possible, but NEVER CHASE unless its a 110% sure kill. Reflection is just an all around annoying spell to be caught in and 9 out of 10 times, that person will turn around and run, and when they run usually the other one will back off a little too or start attacking you, it really depends on the hero. after getting your other 2 abilities its time to start getting tanky.

Always, before going in to ANY fight that you think you can't handle, make sure sunder is either on low cool-down or ready to pop, this is crucial it can be the difference between your team winning a team fight or losing it. The rotation you want to follow before initiating is META then CONJURE IMAGE then once you get into the fight use REFLECTION on the hero most likely to try and run, and make sure before you are visible to anyone you have already used META and CONJURE too keep you from being the target of any stuns or silences once in the fight, thats what the illusions there for.

Now sunder is a tricky ability since they decided to nerf the cast time, when he first came around it was almost instant and no one with full health stood a chance with TB at low health. Now it has maybe a .5-.8 second delay when cast, so be sure you dont wait too long. Wait till you have about anywhere from 45% to 25% health at the lowest, anything less you should probably back out of the team fight, and MAYBE circle back around and use it on the hero not paying attention in the back (sniper *cough* *cough*) depending on how its going. Remember this breaks through magic immunity and dont be too stingy with it, if after the team fight happens and you have a friendly hero who is low on health and is cursed with something that'll do damage over time and your at a decent hp percentage sunder him so he can live and then run to jungle quick your mask of madness will ensure you get that health back quickly, or teleport back to base with your boots and everyone's happy.

Remember, once you start getting late game and your items start to finish, you will see how broken TB can truly be, BUT you also have to keep in mind that he is VERY easily countered. All it takes is a well placed silence spell to lock TB out from doing absolutely anything. Yes being silenced is a threat to everyone but especially to TB just for the fact his whole game relies on him being able to Meta and sunder. If you find yourself in that situation just try to fall back a bit until it wears off then jump right back in.

Be aware of the map at all times late game. When you have those boots of travel and if you decide to take the shadow blade for a spin you can become the troll of the game. If you wanted to take that a little further you could also purchase a Dagon, and here's how that works. First, run up to the biggest ancient you can find in YOUR jungle. Second, let that ancient hit you until your about 30% left with your HP. Third, find the nearest enemy hero and start making your way towards him with your shadowblade active, and use just before your in sight. Last but not least sunder the poor bastard and hit him with the dagon, and BOOM insta kill.

**Early game don't waste mana using conjure image, the illusions wont have much affect on anyone unless your going to use your combo on them to finish them off, save the mana for Reflection and Meta.
